Golden Globes TV Ratings Tank – Americans Turned Off by Hollywood Hypocrites
The Gateway Pundit ^ | January 8, 2017 | Jim Hoft

The Golden Globes ratings were down again this year. It probably didn’t help that the Hollywood hypocrites announced they would lecture the nation on sexual abuse at the annual festivities.

@BuzzFeed This is how everyone looked at Oprah during her speech at the Golden Globes

Oprah Winfrey led the way when she lectured the nation and white males for the monstrous sexual abuse culture in Hollywood during her Golden Globes speech.

Most all of the men accused of abusive behavior against women in the past several months are liberal elites.

The ratings were down by 5%. Variety reported:

The 2018 Golden Globes were down in the Nielsen ratings compared to last year.

The Golden Globes, airing on NBC, drew a 5.0 rating in adults 18-49 and 19 million viewers. That is an approximate drop of approximately 11 percent in the demo and 5 percent in total viewers compared to 2017’s final numbers (5.6, 20 million). The 2016 Golden Globes finished out with a 5.5 and 18.7 million.

In addition, in metered market households, this year’s ceremony drew a 13.4 rating, up slightly from the 13.3 from last year’s ceremony.

Earlier on NBC, the Golden Globes red carpet arrivals drew a 2.2 and 10 million viewers.

The ratings don't actually tell the story. According to Showbuzz Daily's overnight ratings, the first hour was actually a little higher rated than last year, but then viewers tuned out in droves during the next two hours (25% turned it off by the final hour). Only 15% turned it off in the third hour last year. That likely means that many people watched the early part to see how the "Me Too" was going to be handled, but were turned off by all of the lectures.

This will be discussed by advertisers when next year rolls around, and the network probably will see a 30-percent drop in advertising rates. I won’t suggest next year will be the end of the show, but if it follows this trend...they might end up on some lesser cable network and no real cash flow supporting the show.

I think 50-percent of people would prefer to just watch the clip of winners only, and have the speeches totally deleted.

Only the hopelessly vapid would sit through three hours of that crap and seek moral instruction or inspiration from a bunch of whores.

“Oprah Winfrey led the way when she lectured the nation and white males for the monstrous sexual abuse culture in Hollywood during her Golden Globes speech.”

Horse pucky. She went on about some alleged rape from the Jim Crow era. Then general man-hate and how women were in charge now. She is buddies with Winestien and therefore part of the problem.

News flash for Hollywood: the Deplorables aren’t as stupid as you think.

Enjoy your slide into oblivion.

I saw this clip of one the network news anchors saying Oprah’s speech was good therapy, for what I don’t know.

Whatever the percentage of people is who don’t give a flying #### about any awards show, I’m in that percentage.

And that’s just it, for Oprah to have any chance at winning an election, you’d have to rehabilitate Weinstein in the process. That’s why her “campaign” is DOA.

“Oprah’s speech was good therapy, for what I don’t know”

For President Trump kicking their collective butts up around their shoulders I would imagine.

Just like I completely ignore the FNFL, I also totally ignore any and all of the Celebtard Circle Jerks. My time is more valuable that that.

I used to watch the Oscars when I was a kid back in the 60s. I don’t think I’ve had any desire in 50 years. I guess I lost interest about the time George C. Scott started the political crap.

For the life of me, I cannot understand how anyone could watch — again — this orgy in self-congratulation. That’s all liberals seem to do, unceasingly congratulate themselves and give each other awards based upon the reinforcement of their ideological dogma. It is all so self-centered, this worship of self.

It wasn’t political with George C. Scott. He just thought the concept of deciding who the best actor is was ridiculous. He didn’t boycott for any political cause.

(((
Most disappointed to see such a small number.

I am not interested in any of the Hollywood drivel to begin with, so I would not be tuning in even if they were not lecturing.

I totally agree. It’s actually sad how many award shows there are and how these people seem to crave approval of their peers.

The ratings got an early boost from people who were curious over the Me Too stuff. If the ratings from only the second and third hour are counted, it was likely down at least 10%.
