This was the year that brought us Salt Bae, Prosecco-flavoured everything and more vegan options than ever.
But while those viral food trends are here to stay, other much weirder fads are bound to be consigned to history.
Coffees in cones, cakes that look like raindrops, naturally pink chocolate and cloud eggs were just some of the zany foods that had spells in the spotlight in 2017, according to Twitter.
But though they were all the rage on Instagram for a time, it's predicted that these foods certainly won't be on the table in 2018.

PING
Just like every fad, it peaks quickly and dies out just as quick. I for one am sorry that the idiot hipsters hijacked sriracha sauce and turned everybody off to it. Whenever I tell people that I like the sauce (on certain things, not everything), I feel compelled to tell them that I just like the sauce, I’m not one those weirdos that wears T-shirts and beanies depicting it. I’m also not one of those weirdos that has to shout to the world that it’s the greatest thing since multicolored pasta in some stupid misguided effort to be cool.
That’s nothing. I saw a report on my local news station that there is a Sauerkraut Ice Cream in Harrisburg, PA.
I like that last one.
It’s obviously a Worm Hole.
Sushi burger....must find/make.
Saw a terrific movie last night: East Side Sushi.
It’s about a Mexican gal who has worked in various restaurants and finds herself doing prep work, in the back kitchen, of a sushi restaurant.
She discovers the beauty and art of making sushi and falls in love with its form food spiritualism.
She brings a bit local culture to sushi and eventually makes sushi with her own touch.
If you ever watched “Burnt” and understood the passion and dream of that movie, you will love the care the director and actors took and bringing you through this journey.
Wonderful film.
When life hands you a bunch of heads of cabbage...Ice Cream is probably, at best, no higher than #5 on my list of things to do with it.
Surely you remember Garlic ice cream in California?
You are at the absolute TOP of your game today!
No, I don’t remember that one. Though I can’t imagine it being any good.
I still hope to try the pink chocolate.
At least that’s just at the Gilroy garlic festival (I think) so the rest of the state is safe!
Yes. Definitely where I saw it. Just brain freeze on Gilroy.
Agree. Would hate for that fad to pass me by.
SUSHI BURGER!
GIVE!
I used to watch episodes of the original Iron Chef. The Japanese chefs were always making fish ice cream.
What kind of year did I have that I was unexposed to any of these. And what the hey is pink chocolate?
