Trump partly blames Sessions for Republican loss in Alabama: report
Fox News ^ | December 27, 2017 | Fox News

President Trump reportedly blamed Attorney General Jeff Sessions for Republican Roy Moore’s loss in Alabama earlier this month because his departure from the Senate to lead the Justice Department necessitated the race.

Trump lamented the loss of the Senate seat to the Democrats and partly put the blame on Sessions for taking up the position at the Justice Department, which triggered the special election, according to a report from the Associated Press on Tuesday.

Trump has long expressed his concerns with Sessions, going as far as to say in July that he would have not hired him if he knew Sessions was going to recuse himself from the investigations into the alleged Russian interference in the 2016 election.

his departure from the Senate to lead the Justice Department necessitated the race.

And who asked him to leave the Senate and lead the Justice Department?

The buck stops WHERE?

Still failing to find an exact quote where President Trump partly blames Jeff Sessions for the loss in Alabama.

Sessions, of course, would not have left the Senate if Trump hadn’t made him AG.

He was early behind Trump and so obviously helpful in Trump’s being elected.

But what a disappointment.

Stephen Miller however did come from Sessions’s office—and he of course has been superb.

Excuse me. Who's fault is it? Who nominated Mr. Sessions? There would have been no special election had Trump not nominated Sessions.

Can this cat take responsibility for anything?

If something goes south that Trump was directly involved with you can be assured he will not assume responsibility.

He’s doing just fine as AG.

🤨

Excuse me? Sessions is a potted plant. He's likely the worst Republican cabinet pick of all time.

As long as the clintons are not in prison, Sessions is incompetent.

Freepers agree that the upper level FBI and DOJ have been corrupted, however
they clammer for Sessions to instruct DOJ to prosecute based on FBI’s investigation...

This level of cognitive dissonance should hurt.

According to cognitive dissonance theory, there is a tendency for individuals to seek consistency among their cognitions (i.e., beliefs, opinions). When there is an inconsistency between attitudes or behaviors (dissonance), something must change to eliminate the dissonance.

Illogical nonsense. Trump selected Sessions.

And Lincoln selected McClellan. Your point?

New Year, new AG.

Sessions ought to reign based on principle, what he did by recusing himself without telling Trump and allowing that mieskeit Rosenstein to appoint Mueller as SP is called TREACHERY.

If he didn’t do it on purpose to sabotage Trump, then he is too stupid to be trusted.

The honorable thing to do would be to resign.

Sessions needs to go, and Mueller needs to be told his “investigation” has 30 days left and its going to be shut down.

If Trump has any chance left at keeping the majority and getting reelected he needs to break out the long knives, and do it quickly.

Doing just fine? I guess your standard for cabinet officers is pretty low. He is a complete mess. He has had little to do with what the supreme court decides.

While the article is misleading and probably “fake” the concept is important. I seriously doubt Trump picked sessions name without having meetings and discussion on the AG appointment. What did Sessions promise? It must have been pretty important for him to leave the Senate with all his Seniority.

Even if no promises were made, Sessions has been a complete failure. Who cares what SCOTUS Cases he has worked on. Any AG could do that. He has been on the wrong side of many issues. He has no guts. He clealry hurt trump with his “recusals”. His outright statements that he would not charge Hillary. His one sided blunders of judgement in the Bundy v. BLM Case. The only thing that can be said is “we are not sure what he is doing and either are you”.

There may be many things Sessions has done that we are unaware of. Withholding these matters is why we are in this predicament in the first place.

Q says: “Trust Sessions”. President Trump has invited Ryan and McConnell to Camp David, which is a “special” place. Let’s wait until President Trump actually disappoints us before we turn against him.

Best post in the thread. As you can see by most of those here defending Sessions, the tact seems to be to blame Trump., which is likely their overiall opinion on most things.

Jeff was asked to step in as a write-in candidate to save the seat, he refused.
