I ask this question on occasion, but wanted to hash this out again regarding the schizoid voting trends in some states which elect Presidents of one party, but then elect senators and/or governors of the other party. I cannot wrap my mind around this disparity. And it's not even close on the margins. Montana is one of them, electing Trump, but also electing leftists like Testor and a Democrat Governor.
What am I missing?

Sometimes voters get a fill of the party hacks foisted upon them and decide to take the garbage out.
And sometimes there are issues with the local party officials, separate from voters view of the national Republican or national Democrat parties.
Tester won his election in Montana by a very narrow margin, as I recall. It’s not like Montana overwhelmingly wanted a liberal Dem.
Most inner-city urban areas wait until the rest of the state has turned in their votes before turning in theirs so they know how many fraudulent ballots to inject.
Easy answer - there is no such thing as intelligent life.....at least not during the human phase of our spiritual existence....
Montana has lot of government workers relative to their total population.
If we had a way to truly see ALL the election and voter fraud that occurs across the nation, I’m betting you’d have your answer.
New Jersey is a good example...heavily RAT legislature but a R governor every so often. But then a Jersey Republican (officeholder) would be a RAT moderate most other places.
Both parties are full of corrupt elites. One does not have the luxury to vote for good candidates - so one votes for the least bad.
If you think the Repubs are the good guys - realize they promised to repeal Obama-care but when they got in power - they were bought by the insurance company and the votes disappeared.
You can count the principled pols in congress on one hand..
The party system is also a type of false dilemma - you are either with us or against us - when there is actually another choice -
Pols are not your friend - no matter what party they belong to. They sell influence.
One can estimate the level of corruption by the size of the middle class - which is disappearing. The Republican party has become the party of ‘socialism lite’ - but socialism of any type is really about selling out the public..
Democrat Governor Brian Schweitzer admitted to a room full of lawyers (and unknowingly recorded) that he and the Democrat Party committed fraud in order to elect Jon Tester.
I understand wanting to take the garbage out, but then why vote to bring in even smellier garbage? Or why vote for Trump and then severely cramp his ability to do the things he promised?
I always ask myself this: Why, in 2017, would ANYONE want to be associated with the Democrat Party? What kind of person would want that? A Constitutionalist? No. A patriot? No. Someone for limited government? No.
Anyone who chooses to run as a Democrat should be suspect. Not that the Republicans are so great--we know how scummy the establishment is--but that the Democrats are so much worse. Given that in most states you MUST run as either a Republican or Democrat, what kind of person chooses to run as a Democrat? And why on earth would you vote for him?
Depends on the type of party. Take SD for example, Republican Governor and until recently one democrat rep and two dem Senators. Finally a few years ago, we got one Rep Republican and both Senators Republican.The trouble is we got dem light with the Republican’s in office. Even post TRUMP they are basically the same.
I would prefer an aggressive wrecking ball Constitutional originalist to anything else from either party. And the trouble is you just can’t expect that kind of leadership from the democrat party of today, much less the Republican.
In many states there is a large disconnect between issues of local importance and issues of national importance.
Demoncats are excellent liars
They put on a cowboy hat say they like 2nd Ammendment etc
Then they get elected and say ok now time to kill babies
It’s self interest: elect Democrats to loot from other states then elect Republican adult supervision to restrict other states from doing the same.
Or also, many state elections for lesser offices (mayors, school boards, city councils, etc.,) happen in odd years or mail-in-only elections, and these people naturally earn name recognition and advance to higher offices?
