Some of us LOVE getting books, especially for Christmas. There's something special about unwrapping a book on Christmas morning - and enjoy sharing with others.
I rarely post anything, (maybe ten articles in 16 years on Free Republic), but thought this would be a good time for book-lovers to share what we received this morning.
Merry Christmas!

Thanks! Would love to hear your review when you're done reading.
Oh, and the wife got: "ESV Systematic Theology Study Bible" (she's quite the Bible geek).

I gave Jon Del Arroz’s “For Steam And Country”, a steampunk book by a conservative science fiction author, to a teenager.
Will be receiving Dr. Jordan Peterson’s “12 Rules for Life” book coming out next month.

Years ago, I got my daughter Christine...cuz she was into romance novels. That was the year I found out who Stephen King was.

I got a book about Area 51. It is a paperback, but on the cover it claims that it was a bestseller. Could be an interesting book to peruse on a quiet Saturday afternoon.

Same here, it wasn’t for Christmas, but I have been reading “The Women Who Flew for Hitler” by Clare Mulley. We know a lot about Claus von Stauffenberg and the Valkyrie plot to assassinate Hitler, but I had no idea that Melitta von Stauffenberg (Claus’s siser-in-law) was a highly respected test pilot for Hitler and the Third Reich. Melitta also flew around after the war to try to track down Claus’s children who had been taken away from the family after Claus was executed.

Im no teenager, but For Steam and Country was a fun read. Looking forward to the next tale.
My early Christmas book was Nick Cole and Jason Anspach releasing Book 6 of their Galaxys Edge series (better stories than Star Wars).

I’m gonna seal this copy up for my granddaughter and download the audio book. I’m still working, so I have to multi-task.
