It wasn’t for Christmas, but I’ve been reading “Red Cliffs of Zerhoun” that I got back on Dec. 8 as a free Kindle download (thanks, Matt!).
Same here, it wasn’t for Christmas, but I have been reading “The Women Who Flew for Hitler” by Clare Mulley. We know a lot about Claus von Stauffenberg and the Valkyrie plot to assassinate Hitler, but I had no idea that Melitta von Stauffenberg (Claus’s siser-in-law) was a highly respected test pilot for Hitler and the Third Reich. Melitta also flew around after the war to try to track down Claus’s children who had been taken away from the family after Claus was executed.
