A school teacher from Washington, DC has accused United Airlines of evicting her from her first-class seat and giving it to senior Democratic congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee.

Like I say, it sure appears that teachers are PAID VERY WELL these days...out of my property taxes.
IIRC, Sheila tried to bull her way into first class on a Delta flight. The flight attendant told her to return to her seat & she launched, screaming “I am a queen and I expect to be treated like a queen!!!” The stewardess stood her ground & Sheila vowed revenge.
She contacted the president of Delta Air Lines and....guess what? He publicly told Queen Sheila she was welcome to take her business elsewhere. There were no riots; she is not omnipotent.

2005? I last flew in 2004; came off deployment & had to fly to where my car was stored, the irony. Unaccompanied male, one way flight: the TSA goon threatened to have me strip searched after I said absolutely nothing.
If I can’t drive there in two days, no reason to go. Wife & I drove from the deep South to Canada in a comfortable two day trip.
But you just can’t make this stuff up: U.S. border police scanned our passports and ordered us to pull over to have our car searched. Took 1 1/2 hours. This was in the age of Obama; we are both deployed vets, retired warrant officers & we both have our CCW’s. No one can convince me we weren’t politically singled out.

Considering the piss poor leadership and job performance of the past few decades of death, decline and debt, I don't know how these, "Public servant" think they deserve first class anything.
I often fly first class.
With some aggressive shopping for off peak times, you can sometimes catch first for LESS than the already heavily booked coach prices.
Likely there is a flag on her profile in the computer, that tells the agents, “ Give the batch whatever she wants, no matter the cost.”, based on previous dealings with her.

If she was on my flight I would have told her to go sit back there in #11 (at least it’s not in the back of the plane) since she’s supposed to be a servant of the people. A voucher is only good for Untied Airlines and who’d want to fly with them after what they did.
Happened to one of my elderly relatives too - driving to Canada from Indiana - told to pull over so border patrol could search the car - took over an hour, he said, and he had NO idea why he was singled out (also ex- military).
While Somalis and other Afro-Muslims walk freely across the border from the U.S. and are welcomed.
