I remember when being an editor for the AP was one of the crowning achievements. Now it is a joke, as exemplified by this article.

Mandella’s 100th birthday is next year, but he was born in 1981, according to the AP...I noticed this too. Must have meant 1918 .Sometimes I type one letter faster than the other resulting in a switch. The good news is that loosing good editors means the bad guys are losing money
