Two terrible milestones have been reached in the opioid epidemic.
First, overdose deaths surpassed breast cancer deaths by more than a thousand lost lives.
Also, for the second year in a row, the life expectancy in the U.S. has gone down.
Before 2016, the life expectancy for Americans hadn't gone down since the Spanish Flu epidemic 100 years ago.

What will the ribbon look like?
Unlike most ribbons, you'd wear it on your upper arm...
The Mexican border has brought us criminals and their drugs. Both have operated like an army, killing our citizens like bombs and bullets. If a terrorist operation killed more than 63,600 lives, we would be pushing buttons and they would not be happy buttons.
And states are rushing to legalize marijuana use.
If anyone ever had any doubts about marijuana being a gateway drug, we now have a perfect opportunity to study that question and come up with an answer. I do not know one way or the other, but we should find out.
I was shocked to find out there were over 60,000 OD deaths in 2016.
I knew it was spreading, but I had no idea it was that bad.
The amount of deaths from crime and opioid overdoses coming over our Mexican border should case great alarm. If a terrorist operation caused more than 63,600 American lives, buttons would be pushed and they wouldn’t be happy buttons. The deaths by illegal alien criminals just put cream on the top.
Vancouver B.C. tried this too and had over 900 opioid deaths last year to show for it.
That is total drug overdose deaths. It includes pills etc. I cannot find the actual number of heroin deaths. Every article has the same paragraph that tells other raw numbers and then says heroin deaths are up 20%.
Life expectancy does not include time from CONCEPTION. The number ONE killer of Americans is Abortion.
“In 2014, a reported 926,240 abortions took place in the United States, down from 1.06 million in 2011, 1.21 million abortions in 2008, 1.2 million in 2005, 1.29 million in 2002, 1.31 million in 2000 and 1.36 million in 1996. From 1973 through 2011, nearly 53 million legal abortions occurred in the U.S (AGI).”
Recreational Cannabis Legalization and Opioid-Related Deaths in Colorado, 2000-2015
Objectives. To examine the association between Colorados legalization of recreational cannabis use and opioid-related deaths.
Methods. We used an interrupted time-series design (20002015) to compare changes in level and slope of monthly opioid-related deaths before and after Colorado stores began selling recreational cannabis. We also describe the percent change in opioid-related deaths by comparing the unadjusted model-smoothed number of deaths at the end of follow-up with the number of deaths just prior to legalization.
Results. Colorados legalization of recreational cannabis sales and use resulted in a 0.7 deaths per month (b = −0.68; 95% confidence interval = −1.34, −0.03) reduction in opioid-related deaths. This reduction represents a reversal of the upward trend in opioid-related deaths in Colorado.
Conclusions. Legalization of cannabis in Colorado was associated with short-term reductions in opioid-related deaths. As additional data become available, research should replicate these analyses in other states with legal recreational cannabis.

I thought opioids were pills. I don’t know. I’ve never took them (to my knowledge). Shooting up sounds like a dance with the devil though.
Well here is what we do know on that subject so far...
Heroin overdoses fell with medical legalization
This is just one article of many if you google the subject
I have a good friend that got off his opioid based pain management program that he would have been on for life after Arizona started the medical program.
Opiod use is down in States with legal marijuana.
I’m always skeptical of all these opioid stats. For starters, I want to see WHICH opioids are included in their summaries because they always throw it all into one basket. I suspect 90% of ODs and deaths are due to heroin. Hydrocodone is maybe 2%. Oxys would account for the rest. Also, I want to know ALL drugs in the patient’s system, not just the blanket “opioids”. Again, I suspect the ODs & deaths are due to a cocktail of “opioids” AND alcohol AND/OR marijuana AND probably gabapentin (Neurotin) or pregabalin (Lyrica). I would think accidental death by opioids alone is pretty rare. The devil’s in the details.
Pills get crushed into a fine powder than mixed with water to make it injectable. It also often laces marijuana to increase the high.
Not to mention Hezbollah being able to operate freely within the US to sell drugs.
It’s been known for a long time that OD death’s from black tar heroin surprise that of all drugs. Not only is it highly fatal but also extremely addictive. The only source of black tar heroin is from on specific area in Mexico, the dealers illegal aliens who make home deliveries and induce youngsters to try it to get new clients.
