Senator Al Franken resigned from the US Senate on December 7th.
This came after dozens of Democrat senators finally told him to step down for his sexual abuse that was caught on camera.
Al Franken attacked President Donald Trump and Judge Roy Moore on the way out the door.
But he never set a date to leave office. He said it would be “in the coming weeks.”
He’s still in office.
Politico reported:
At least four senators are urging Al Franken to reconsider resigning, including two who issued statements calling for the resignation two weeks ago and said they now feel remorse over what they feel was a rush to judgment.
Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.), who urged Franken not to step down to begin with — at least not before he went through an Ethics Committee investigation — said the Minnesota senator was railroaded by fellow Democrats.
“What they did to Al was atrocious, the Democrats,” said West Virginia Sen. Joe Manchin in an interview for POLITICO’s Off Message podcast to post on Tuesday.
Franken’s unusual timeline — in his departure announcement he said he’d go “in the coming weeks,” without setting a date — has fed the fleeting hopes that there’s still time to reverse course. However, Tina Smith, Minnesota’s Democratic lieutenant governor, was named last week as his appointed successor.

It couldn't be more obvious. Establishment 'pubs want to keep power and get the goodies from being the other major party. But they don't want to have to pass the initiatives that get them elected.
The PDS is not through with Franken. There is more on him and he will be forced to resign.

The Roy Moore thing is over so he can climb down off his cross now.
Told you all Franken was NEVER going to resign..it was all a bunch of BS..Democrats NEVER take responsibility for their actions..NEVER
Yes, and perhaps about 80% of the eligible non-voters in that same election, n’est ce pas?
Agreed...
Hey, Alabamans, squishy Senators and Representatives, etc,...
How does it feel to be played for suckers?
by a 2ND-RATE COMEDIAN!!!
That “Republican” senator from Alabama all but endorsed Moore’s opponent. He can’t be trusted.
Nobody is changing a vote because of this. The lines are drawn. Us vs. them. Both sides can do pretty much anything they want without risking the vote of the faithful.
Good. I hope he stays, his replacement would be much tougher to beat.
LOL
We know that Democrats have a history of reneging on their word, but this is fresh fodder to beat them with.

Not their votes in Congress, the Peoples’ votes in elections. Nobody is switching sides period.
Who did not know this was going to happen? If Al Franken was going to resign from the senate, he would have done it back then instead of saying he was going to. It was a maneuver to soften the accusations for a time, until they were watered down. Then he will say he changed his mind.
It will actually be good for the Pubbies if he stays. If he goes, he will just be replaced by another brainless libtard. If he stays, just let the libtards try to assert a Republican war on women or castigate Trump for his alleged bad behavior.
Nope. If Moore had won, they would have said it justified his remaining.
I hope the POS stays. He can be the poster boy of the RAT party until there is a good chance of removing him in his next election.
Well let’s face it - Teddy the K left an awful low bar for senatorial behavior when he was flushed down the tube to hell.
