Rose McGowan called out actresses who plan to wear black gowns to the Golden Globes to protest gender inequality.
The actress took to Twitter on Saturday, writing, "Actresses, like Meryl Streep, who happily worked for The Pig Monster, are wearing black @GoldenGlobes in a silent protest. YOUR SILENCE is THE problem. You

Award ceremonies where actors and actresses arrive in limousines 30 feet long, the women wearing $30,000 designer dresses, and $1,000,000 worth of jewelry go inside and step to the microphone and preach to us that conservatives are using more than their “fair share” of the earth’s resources.

The casting couch was known for a long long while. That is why my beautiful mother didn’t become a starlet. She didn’t want to go the casting couch route (and this was in the 40s).
Yep, Meryl Streep is a hypocrite. She is also an enabler and a liar, one who was okay with Harvey Weinstein’s abuses.
CO2 much.
They shall be required to carry it one (Prada) bag at a time!
Theyre not wearing white to show their purity?
Yikes! Can’t even imagine what she was thinking to appear in public “undressed” like that. What she wore was not clothing, a dress nor a covering, more of a showcase of her body, a preview, a demonstration of foreplay(?). Yes, as her lack of clothing demonstrates, women can appear to be offering free use of their bodies when appearing in public barely dressed. Of course, it maybe she’s mentally ill or desperate for attention, are those the same thing? And yes, rape is about inflicting domination, anger, power upon another and in many cases the perpetrator is probably mentally ill. We must remember that victims are not only those considered to be sexually attractive women, but females and males of all ages and appearance. I do wonder though in certain cases if there are misread cues, since parading nude in public, certainly can be read as an invitation even if that wasn’t the intent of nudist. Overt nudity does imply sexuality and while some may like to flaunt what they have, their flamboyance can make some uncomfortable or intrigued, it can also give the wrong impression to others who may see it as an invitation to abuse... This has always been the reason women are advised to dress modestly. It is what it is and always has been, this doesn’t mean women need to wear burquas, it means there is a need for standards, for decorum. Her red carpet display belonged in a burlesques house not a public display. And no I’m not excusing Weinstein nor accusing the women. A predator looks for and find naivety in another’s sense of security which they use to their advantage.
Yup, the elites in Hollywood seem to view the rest of us as “peasants.” Hopefully the ratings will be at an all-time low for award shows this year.
You say....”I wont berate their industry for their fancy gala fashions whether in good taste or not.”.....
That’s ok ..I will...
You can pamper these Hollywood gals all you want as victims...I will not for obvious reasons. When teenagers stop copying their undressed styles they stuff down young peoples throats... then I might reconsider.
Now that these wenches all have their “FU Money”, now they can be all “brave”....Puke!
That's why I feel that women have to take some responsibility for the harassment or abuse. (Although I do not at all defend the behavior of Weinstein, who seems like a major-league criminal.)
Seems like these women want it both ways -- a sexualized culture, yet respect. They want to participate in licentiousness yet not have to suffer the consequences.
She has now latched onto Steven Spielberg as Weinstein is gone.
Not pampering them. Not my place to pass judgement either. Each will face their judgement based on their individual circumstances & sin.
That’s pretty funny.
