The truth is all the lines represented in the image are curvy, but if you’re like most people, you should see alternating rows of straight and wavy lines.
Though it’s somewhat unclear how it works, scientists think it’s caused by the brain using different mechanisms to identify curved and angular shapes. These mechanisms may interfere or compete with each other, producing this strange effect.

I saw them all as curvy, though the ones with the color change at the curve apexes seemed less curvy.

After covering up all the lines top and bottom except for a single ‘angular’ line in the middle, the single angular line still appears exactly the same. With or without covering up the lines, the angular line does have a slight curve to the figure, but it is exactly the same whether it is viewed alone or as part of the pattern.
Same - the dark/light juncture at the apex of the curves sharpened the curves...more parlor trick than potential deficiency.
I see nothing but curves. Trying to squint and blur and look sideways but still curves. Always knew I wasn’t most people.
Some animals have a difficult time seeing something that’s NOT moving. Saves energy when looking for food not to be checking out every stick. Hard to imagine how this fit into our evolution, but it’s interesting.
That being said, since Trump and myself suffer from this mental defect that will cause him or even me if I was POTUS, to bring on Armageddon. I feel it is only prudent that we:

In the black and white fields, the curve is obvious (black and white, get it?) even though the lines within the curved lines are staggered.
The curved lines having alternating black and white coloration, but the ones that have the "break" between the black and white are at the top and bottom of the "sine wave" are the ones that seem to appear straight .... In The Grey Area.
It's that grey area background that most easily fools the eye and brain into "seeing" what is not there.
Just one more evidence (IMO) for the infallibility of the Bible.

One pair looks “curvy” (”wavy” would be a better description) and the other pair resembles chevrons. The illusion is the result of whether the color is continuous through the apex of the curve or is “broken” at the apex.
