Well, CNN does it again. (My favorite Christmas movie.)
CNN has become that dirty ring around the national NEWS tub.
CNN has become that dirty ring around the national NEWS tub DRAIN!
Oops...
Be sure to drink your Ovaltine, Wolf.

I thought that would be the first response. :)
Clown attack!!!
“:^)
The rats at CNN are bumbling around blinder than a kid with a bad case of soap poisoning.
Ill try to be quicker next time.

Wolf Blitzer..the same clown who the day before Trump became President..ran a hypothetical about what would happen if Trump and Pence were both assassinated, would their messiah Obama be able to stay in power and appoint Clinton to the White House..CNN is a national joke, where would they be if airports and doctors offices changed the channel
President Trump keeps passing the MSM exploding cigars; the MSM promptly lights up each one.
Then he goes to Twitter - which he wields like a laser pointer to the confusion of the confused alphabet network media cats.
All of their campaigns have blown up in their faces.
- The war against women...
- Sexual harrassment...
- Russia...
- Leaks...
Hoist by their own petards time after time... while that Twitter laser pointer keeps them all chasing their own mangy tails.
It truly is amazing how this has backfired on the unholy alliance of the DemonRats-enemedia-FBI . just stunning. I was thinking about that this afternoon and Id like to pose a question to all the creative Freepers here . English is a very broad language that is quite adequate in most cases but there isnt actually a word to describe what is going on here. Well, maybe there is and I havent found it but perhaps weve got to steal one from some other language. Let me explain .Im looking for a word that combines the intent of the words blowback, repercussion, rebound, backfire and recoil. There is also an element of poetic justice about it. Here are situations where it would get used .
Scenario 1 . Its dark and a person (likely a thief) is looking in a barrel to find something. He doesnt have a flashlight but he has a match and as he takes the lit match and goes deeper into the barrel with his arm to get better visibility, it comes in contact with some low lying gas that violently explodes.
Scenario 2 . A boss fires an employee for something but someone else higher up in the company thought this might have been a bit unfair and decides to investigate. During the investigation, documents get uncovered that show that the boss who did the firing was surreptitiously swindling millions out of the company coffers .
Scenario 3 . (and this one has sort of happened to me) . A customer whines about how much a project is costing and threatens to not pay for some of the work that was done even though the work itself was quite brilliant and professional. The customer also didnt actually implement any of the recommendations that they had been given even though he had been warned that they are on the ragged edge of imminent failure. While the discussion about payment is going on, the equipment actually blows to smithereens and puts the plant completely down for 4 months.
Scenario 4 . What is going on right now with DemonRats-enemedia-FBI.
So the word Im looking for encapsulates this description . A stupid, unnecessary and/or uncalled for action that once taken, has an immediate, unanticipated and violent repercussive result that dwarfs the original action in terms of its seriousness and scope.
So
any suggestions? I cant find one that is adequate and am thinking it might be necessary to borrow one from the Germans or someone like that. You know, the way that schadenfreude has become part of our common lexicon because English didnt have a word in its repertoire that meant anything close to it
..German has two words that might work
fehlschlagen and fehlzündung. If someone speaks German here, please comment as to whether these words work or if they are just used for backfire as in an automobile
.Or maybe a fresh new word needs to be made up.

The only expression I know is hoist by his own petard!
So they were/are petarded? They petarded themselves? I am looking for a single word and I agree, that expression is the closest fit for what is going on.....
