Were they Apple SSDs

No all were Crucial. Files disappeared, CCC failed to duplicate a drive and I stupidly didn't check it. Oh well. I am running old Mac Pro's with several SSDs.

uh oh, I thought I was ejecting my camera, but it was my Seagate Go-Flex backup.

I selected it then used “move to trash”.

It’s gone from my desktop, and I don’t see it in trash.

I clicked on the Time Machine icon and clicked “Back Up Now”, but it says the backup disk is not available.

I was going to do a restart, hoping it would come back, then thought I should ask you guys first.

Hi, JohnnyP. I just sent you Freepmail on this. Not to worry. You just ejected the drive, not trashed it. Restarting your computer will remount it if its an external that is still plugged in. Or you can go to the GO Menu from the Desktop (make sure you click someone on the Desktop) and click on the GO and then select UTILITIES and then Disk Utilities. That will let you remount the missing HD.

You'll get it back with either option.

If they weren’t to boot drives, then they may just need to be remounted. Check with Disk Utility.

I don’t think I have a Go utility.

It’s my iMac from 2007 with 10.6.8

In the disk utility, do I click first aid or restore?

I’m pretty sure I don’t want to erase, partition, or RAID it.

Ok, I did a restart and it’s back.

Thanks very much, had me skeered for a minute. :)

Not complaining.
Glad to have this as a free service from Apple.

Everyone has a GO menu on the Desktop menu. . . but you have to be on the desktop to see it. Click on the Desktop icon on the dock or on the Desktop itself and a GO menu will appear at the top of the screen on the Menu bar.

When you are in the Disk Utility, just highlight the external drive and select MOUNT. That's all. Nothing more. When you do that, it will appear on the window sidebars, and if you've set your Finder preferences to show it, on the desktop.

If they weren’t to boot drives

They are boot drives and scratch drives. I have them all up and working again by downgrading. High Sierra insisted on formatting all the SSDs in the new format, caused some drives to fail to appear, not worth the trouble as the land lies currently. Will just have to wait until it matures.

I am running some of the SSDs from PCI and some as SATA and a couple USB3 all gave same problem.

I think the mixed format on the drives caused some of the problem but I am satisfied that I don't currently need the new features bad enough to worry with it. I guess I can blame Crucial but I doubt they are the total problem.

Getting too old to keep up Sword but still young enough for the challenge. have a G4 Mini running Tiger and Classic when I get he urge to dwell in the past.
