Netflix has reached an agreement to resume production on “House of Cards” season 6 — the show’s final season — in early 2018, according to chief content officer Ted Sarandos.

Production of “House of Cards” season 6 was suspended in October, following sexual assault allegations against star Kevin Spacey.

Season six of the political thriller will be eight episodes, starring Robin Wright. The final season will not include Spacey, as previously announced.

Not only entertaining, but realistic.

things improved in 5. Sounds like they are going to go south again in 6 because Robin Wright cannot carry the show. She doesn’t have what Spacey has...that ability to engage the camera and make the show her.

The only reason to have a final season of a show called House of Cards is to watch the house fall. The Gun Is On The Table. Use The Gun. But they probably won’t do that because they won’t want to make a woman look bad.

It’s set up perfectly for that.

Robin Wright is a lightweight who thinks she isn’t, so I don’t hold much hope.

I’ll binge run it at some point. But peak TV is producing stuff too fast for me, there’s other things I want to watch more. Not like first two seasons that were first weekend. Got a long vacation coming soon, we’ll see what I get through.

What struck me in the series is the strained relationship between both Underwoods in the script, and I wonder if that was reflected in similar tensions in real life too. The character of Claire has just screwed over her husband, after he had done the same to her for years. She is now in control on the show. I wonder how much Robin Wright had to struggle for dominance on the set, and now that seems to have been accomplished and Spacey is out on his a$$. I imagine her being quite ticked off as Spacey’s scandals could have destroyed her future in the show.

I remember being surprised by a bit of a gay slant in the last season. Not at all surprised now. I am glad to hear there is one more season. I was wondering what would happen to Claire Underwood’s character.

On another tangent, how often are elections influenced by TV shows and their characters? After a successful black president was played by Dennnis Haysbert on 24, we got Obama. (I would have preferred Haysbert to Obama.) It seems that Madam Secretary and perhaps House of Cards were partly inspired by Madam Clinton. I could never watch West Wing, but maybe that played a part as well.

IIRC she also directed most of season four as well as was the focus for most of the season.

She doesn’t emote enough and frankly very few actors can direct and star, Eastwood, but she isn’t of Eastwood’s caliber.

I thought the homosexual aspects on last season were just building on the continued homosexuality in the previous season with the threesome with the SS agent and the oral sex scene with Frank’s former roommate and military school.

I didn't know that for a fact until now, but I suspected it because it was so cliche'd and stereotyped.

>>>the only way they can deal with it is to kill him off.

In the original British series that this one is based on, that’s what happened - the wife had him killed.

He’s killed in all 3 books, but for whatever reason the BBC decided not to kill him the first 2 times. Which makes books 2 and 3 more sequels to the TV show than the book. Finally with the 3rd book Dobbs made the plot to kill FU so integral BBC just couldn’t save him.

True, she is the Hillary Clinton of the show and somehow they will make her successful.

I agree——I certainly won’t watch it.
