Movie star and potential 2020 presidential candidate Dwayne The Rock Johnson, has taken exception with how President Trump has dealt with politically outspoken athletes.
According to The Rock, the players just want to be heard. advertisement
Johnson told InStyle Magazine, When the players are kneeling as a last resort, as a desire to be heard, clearly theyre not being heard. Its an opportunity for our leaders, our president and his staff, to hear them, truly hear them, and not be angry.
Though, Johnson doesnt merely confine his criticisms to how Trump has handled anthem-protesting NFL players. The actor and former wrestler also addressed the presidents criticism of NBA star Steph Curry, after the Warriors guard said he didnt want to visit the White House.

It’s all part of the Left/Deep State/illuminati’s MO, the Hegelian Dialetic.
Plant a stake in the ground with an idea that has at least a smidgen of defensibility, and play its defensibility to the maximum.
Let the overwhelming majority say how awful and inappropriate, while the gullible that don’t identify with the majority get picked off by the altruism the stake claims to represent.
Exaggerate the favor your stake in the ground has supposedly found and demand the majority acquiesce to it to create a new normal.
Act like your stake in the ground has nobly won the day, and as long as you don’t get crucified, you have won.
The Left is certainly sufficiently content to burn greedy football players and let their sport (and their salaries) to be turned into a shadow of their former selves.
For the Left, it’s a Pyrrhic-but-welcome victory to move the culture to where they can reasonably plant the next, yet-more-”out there” stake in the ground.
Think Black Lives Matter.
Think illegal immigration.
Think open borders.
Think fast and furious gun-running.
Think of the many gun control initiatives by the elites.
Think importing foreign combatants.
Think paying all the above bigger and bigger stipends.
None of those ideas were endorse by any majority, but as each of those farther-out stakes got planted, the Majority did not put an end to the damage being wrought.
So, in effect, the stake planters generally did win and the culture’s erosion continues well away from what we would have wanted. We also don’t have a Constitution or country that is as lovingly regarded as when were growing up.
One does hear it a lot, but it’s still appropriate. Wake up! Don’t let this evil continue to roll us into being taken over by their evil. Never accept whatever what the NWO’s shiny new stake is pushing us to accept in this round!
I did listen, when I voted for Trump so that all Americans, including African-Americans, could get their manufacturing jobs back.
The problem with the NFL protests, assuming I interpret them the way you do, is that they go after the wrong people. If the kneelers are really seeking change, then let them take their protests to the Democrat party. It is the Democrats who are running the cities where all of their greivences have occurred.
Brilliant reply! I love it! Why do these morons keep assuming that no one understands what they are trying to say and that if they just do it more and louder we will all get it? We got it from the jump. The first time that idiot Colon Cancer protested everyone got it, they just disagree vehemently with what they are saying. Thats why the idiots at the NFL are dealing with a BILLION DOLLARS in losses! Wake up idiots “The People” reject you and your BS indulgent posturing.
I think he is of Pacific Islander background, not African.
They have been listened to. They're liars and whiners and racists. So is "The Rock". Thanks ColdOne.
I was wrong. He is also half Black Nova Scotian.
“According to The Rock, the players just want to be heard.
Heard about what??? Everyone in the entire world knows there are racial problems everywhere. And the US is no different. You want to do some good, site situations, laws, and talk about working together to stop it. Saying only one side is the cause and they are expected to fix it is not going to get it done.
And knowingly grinding their heals into the backs of real heroes that died or suffered for their cause, is not going to help in any way. They didn’t care what the skin color was of the people they died for.
And yet it continues with no leadership, no message leading to success, lies as to its purpose, and destruction of its possibly fix, with nothing more than threats to do it again.
I hear what they are saying Dwayne. And they have all been heard after a year. And what have they accomplished? Nothing.
rwood
Yeah, we heard'em but what they're saying is complete bullsh*t.
When the players are kneeling as a last resort...”
This really breaks my heart, that these rich millionaire thugs are upset because they can’t can’t carry on their thuggery off the field.
"Movie Stars! Is there ANYTHING they don't know?" ~ Homer J. Simpson
wussy in a
Fairy costume.
Shut up Dwayne.
Nope. Not happening.
I understand that a person would have to be desperate to insult my wife as a means of getting my attention, but I won't react to such a slur by "listening" to a person who is bubbling over with rudeness.
I understand again that a person would have to be desperate to insult my mother as a means of getting my attention, but I won't react to such a slur by "listening" to a person who would stoop so low.
I understand also that a person would have to be desperate to insult my country/military/anthem/flag/ancestors as a means of getting my attention, but I still won't react to that slur by "listening" to a person who oozes hatred for freedom.
Yes, the Rock is a big guy, but I would have no trouble with telling him to his face that this is a non-starter. NFL players, and 2-14 loser non-player Colin K, are fools and morons not to have noticed that their offensive behavior has created a dialog about their rudeness bot has not in any way advanced the dialog they claim to want. I thought better of The Rock, but he's either poorly informed or a moron for not figuring this out.
So "Idiocracy" may become reality with a former pro wrestler in the White House.
Well, Dwayne, a lot of people are sick of having to “listen” to people who are never satisfied. People who commit half the felonies. People who have a myriad govt proframs, set asides and preferences that actually give them quite an advantage over others. That these people have squandered all this, deserted their children only to claim to be oppressed is only making the people who pay for all this not so much angry as apathetic about all of this supposed plight.
Eventually no one will care any more. There’s no point in trying to help people who glory in wallowing in victimhood. Why throw good money after bad? You might have the law on your side. Precious good it will do you.
Hey Dwayne, there are vast numbers of people who have stopped watching and listening.
You offer poor advice, it is the NFL who had best be listening, and not to their whiny-ass players!
Honestly, it’s actually pretty unclear what the protest is about.
The first kneeler was pretty clear about what he was protesting. When it became more widespread, the message got muddied.
If they’re not being clear, there isn’t much to meaningfully hear.
“Movie star and potential 2020 presidential candidate Dwayne The Rock Johnson...” Stopped reading right there.
Dwayne I still want to be your girlfriend but taking a knee during the national anthem is not a last resort its attention hoe deficit. :-)
The players will lobby for an NFL bailout. When the NFL fails, the oppressed, non-paid college football players will scream the loudest.
Righto
