The deal follows a trend of other mergers among restaurant chains.
Earlier this month, Au Bon Pain agreed to be bought by Panera, which itself was bought earlier this year by JAB, the owner of Krispy Kreme and Peets Coffee.
In addition, Burger King parent Restaurant Brands bagged Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen earlier this year, and Olive Garden owner Darden bought Cheddars Scratch Kitchen.

We have the Chicken?
Probably the death knell for both outfits. Crap food, crap service, crap cleanliness at least in our corner of Upstate South Carolina.
Arby’s is a heavy donor to 100% Dem candidates.
My family and I went to "B-Dub's" (colloquial name for Buffalo Wild Wings) when they opened up in our area. Not a great experience.
Food was so-so, service was OK (they'd just opened, so they were probably trying to attract customers), but the worst part was the noise. You couldn't hear yourself think. As luck would have it, my wife is deaf, and she and I were able to communicate in sign language, but the rest of the family didn't fare as well.
That was a couple years ago, and we haven't been back since.
Eating at Arby’s is a once in a lifetime experience.
Liked B-Dub’s when it opened the kids like it. Since then the food has gone downhill, my wings are epic compared to theirs, and even thier hamburgers come out well-done overcooked like shoe leather.
Arby’s has been steadily improving its position... BWW is, well.... a chain sports bar with bad food.... Not sure what synergy there is between the two, unless they are going to start offering Arby’s food at BWW... which would probably be an improvement.
I could deal with most of it, but the noise was a deal breaker for me too.
Since they've expanded--not so much. The accountants took over and the food hasn't been as good.
BINGO
Arby’s food=grossness
Thanks BenLurkin. Arby's has been on a roll, and is the busy drive through most places when I have time to notice. BTW, no joke, the Chicken Pepperoni Parm sandwich (limited time, maybe geographically limited as well) is EXCELLENT.
My personal, anecdotal experience is that almost the entire restaurant and bar industry (except at the very highest end) seems to be going down the toilet at 100 miles an hour, primarily because the owners can’t find a member of the “Millennial” generation they can count on to show up and work. Service just continues getting worse and worse over time.
They are right down the street from each other here....................
Yep, eat there once and you’ll never go back............................
The absolute biggest joke of a restaurant. I go two doors down pay a little more and get real Italian at Luigi's.
The one near me in the midlands of SC is also crap. Been there one time, no need to go back.
The Olive Garden near me remodeled* a while ago and converted from a bunch of small, quiet eating sections, to one big open-air festival!. Except if I want to eat at a place where I cannot hear myself think, I’ll won’t go to Olive Garden. Fortunately there are others that haven’t (yet) remodeled*.
(*here in Texas the term ‘remodel’ usually means that the insect infestation is so bad that you need to shut down and clear out everything. Obviously you then have to make at least a token effort to show you’ve reconfigured.)
