First Lady Melania Trump is Making ‘Coat-Slinging’ Fashionable Again (photos)

First Lady Melania Trump loves to rock a luxury designer coat, though she prefers to simply drape the outerwear over her shoulders.

With her arms free from the sleeves of the coat, Melania transforms what would be a winter-look into an eveningwear ensemble that’s as elegant and fashion-forward as a Dior gown. This is known as “coat-slinging.”

Once a look reserved for fashion insiders and editors, Melania is making coat-slinging the new American silhouette for this winter and early spring. For Melania, coat-slinging serves two purposes.

The first purpose is practicality. Why wear a coat when you can drape it over your shoulders and increase the elegance of your outfit?

The second purpose is asserting her stature as First Lady. By coat-slinging, Melania is able to subtly and stylishly declare her significance in the White House. The draping over of her coats keeps her in a poised, statuesque stance that exudes regality.

If she approached Fashion Designer John Smith (of whom nobody else had previously heard), and asked him to design cloaks for her:

1) She would look awesome in them.

2) Cloaks would become an instant fashion hit. (A very good thing, IMO)

3) Fashion Designer John Smith would become a very wealthy man and a household name.

What’s not to like?

coat slinging, shoulder robing whatever you want to call it comes in handy when running outside or into cold places like garage quick for fire wood or to run garbage cans out to curb, get the mail at end of driveway, nothing new but glad our First Lady Melania is making it more fashionable than the heavy oversized old coat of my dad’s that I use for it.

Just a refreshing change from the First Tranny aka “Big Mike” RIP Joan Rivers for bringing that to our attention.

My mother was European, specifically Italian, and often wore her coat slung from her shoulders. This was in the 50’s through 70s.

If you spend time in the films from that era, you will see that style in the more international flavor films, like To Catch a Thief with Cary Grant and Grace Kelly. Just watched that in Blue Ray last night. The directors and cameramen were incredible artists.

Grace Kelly was a physically perfect specimen of woman.

Are you fashion designer John Smith?

I like the way she wears coats. I worked for an office manager that did that, very classy look.

No worries. There will be plenty of knockoffs available.

I love it, too. So feminine.

Wow. See post 26, lol. I had heard of this, errr, ISSUE, but kinda let it go. If true I have no doubt those two frauds (Obamas) would be laughing at us behind our backs about it.

Thank You for the Ping Drewh.

To First Lady Melania's List.

The best First Lady of my lifetime anyway.

As a man, I'm glad I don't have to keep up with the styles of the females. For work, I just wear the same suits and ties I wore 30 years ago. Outside of work, I wear the same LL Bean stuff I wore 30 years ago and in summer I might wear Hawaiian shirts and tan shorts. The same ones I wore back in the 1980s.

That said, Melania looks pretty darn good.

I’m with both of you. I love that jacket but let’s be honest most women couldn’t pull it off, on Melania it’s just plain glamorous.

OH MY GOD I LOVE THAT jacket. Probably costs more than I make in a year

That was a work of art destined for a museum, worn that one time, if I remember correctly.

Worth more than both of us make in a year, put together...
