Women are having fewer children than ever.

Women are having fewer children than ever before and more are staying childless, new data reveals today.

Women who turned 45 in 2016 had an average of 1.80 children, down from 2.21 for their mothers' generation, who turned 45 in 1944.

The same generation also had fewer children by their 30th birthday, suggesting women are having children later in life. Women who turned 45 last year had 1.06 children by 30 compared to 1.8 in their mother's generation.

In total, 18 per cent of women who turned 45 last year had no children at all, compared with 11 per cent of women in their mother's generation.

Free choice. I don’t lose much sleep over those who choose self destructive folly.

Politics is a scam and we’re suckers for playing.

I think some of it is the financial instability of today.

Amen. I think one of the reasons traditional families don't have more kids is they are forced through taxation to pay for the children of "failed" families.

Also the general acceptance of birth control by almost all secular culture and also almost universal acceptance of birth control within marriage by religious groups.

Not happy about it, but I see a similar trend. I’d prefer western culture to survive, and I think it will, but drastically reduced in size and influence outside the US and a handful of other countries.

We’re already seeing a sort of horrible math reducing abortions. Plainly put, people pass along their views and morals to their children. Prolife folks pass along their views. Antilife people would do the same, but alas they already exterminated their would be progeny. Prolife folks are seeing life compounding.

Politics is a scam and we’re suckers for playing.

A society that doesn’t produce new generations dies a slow death.

Somewhere there is a happy middle ground between epidemic spinsterhood/bachelorhood and breeding like a box of hamsters.

>Except for Muslims, Mormons, hard shell Evangelicals, Orthodox and Amish.

American Mormons birth rates have been declining for 15 years or so now. They embraced women’s lib a little while ago and as usual, the birth rate dropped like a rock.

Mormons continue to increase it numbers, but mostly from recruiting people from 3ed world nations these days.

Suppressing self-reliance and productivity, while subsidizing poverty, drug abuse and criminal activity.

There are 21 married woman in my church.

They have 44 living children.

They’ve also lost some, so, there have been more pregnancies.

Several are still in the process of building their families, and are in their 20s and 30s, so more are expected I am sure.

In my college class, the lecturer referred to marriage and having children as the most insideous trap of the patriarchy.

I was the only one that raised one small question, “But, Professor. Isnt childbearing sort of neccessary for the survival of, not only our civilization, but of our species in entirety”

She just looked at me dumbfounded and moved on to the next topic.

I even left a complaint with the University administrators about having teachers with such strong ideological convictions they were unable to teach. No response on that front.

There are not a whole lot of mothers alive today that were born in 1899.

Part of my college experience came when I was a regular contributor to the Republican National Committee. They issued me a credit card-looking piece of plastic I was rather proud of. It proclaimed me a member of the RNC. Somehow, word got around that I was *on* the committee.

The professors weren’t overtly Marxist at the time, but they were liberals and I got a surprising amount of respect from them. I said something about Phyllis Schlafly once, and they assumed I knew her. Never bothered to correct ‘em.

Looked at another way, there are 12 women aged 45 years or older who are members of my church.

They have 34 surviving children.

Sadly they have lost a few.

At any rate, that’s a replacement rate of almost 3.0.

Yay, us!

I’m much more optimistic. If you look at who is having large families in our society, if tends to be those with firm religious beliefs. The same folks who are going to categorically reject most of the Malthusian views that permeate the popular “culture.” Today’s parents who plan and act appropriately will have plenty of grandchildren. Those who remain in thrall to the more ridiculous ideas circulating about won’t.

Be optimistic all you want but that is not going to change the math. We (Americans) are being invaded and out bred at a rate that will see our nation unrecognizable in a matter of a few decades. It's like the Texas sized asteroid in Armageddon headed straight at the USA. Being optimistic is fine but it will do nothing to prevent or even delay impact.

I think most of them are afraid that if they have children, they won’t be able to afford the latest “smart phone”.

Some women may have active business and athletic lifestyles and may not wish to be slowed by children.
Some men may live a similar lifestyle and do not wish to be financially responsible if a union does not thrive.
There are any number of valid reasons a man and woman may not wish to have kids in the contemporary United States.

Why would western women want to have children with western men? A matriarchy hates their men because they have surrendered to them and therefore the women in power despise them. Cuckitude has a price and that price is watching your women seek mates outside the tribe.

In vino veritas (In wine truth). It is late, I have partaken of the vine, and I have no time for bullshit. Man up or watch other men from other cultures dictate what happens to your daughters and sons.
