In my college class, the lecturer referred to marriage and having children as the most insideous trap of the patriarchy.

I was the only one that raised one small question, “But, Professor. Isnt childbearing sort of neccessary for the survival of, not only our civilization, but of our species in entirety”

She just looked at me dumbfounded and moved on to the next topic.

I even left a complaint with the University administrators about having teachers with such strong ideological convictions they were unable to teach. No response on that front.

Part of my college experience came when I was a regular contributor to the Republican National Committee. They issued me a credit card-looking piece of plastic I was rather proud of. It proclaimed me a member of the RNC. Somehow, word got around that I was *on* the committee.

The professors weren’t overtly Marxist at the time, but they were liberals and I got a surprising amount of respect from them. I said something about Phyllis Schlafly once, and they assumed I knew her. Never bothered to correct ‘em.
