Can the descent of American political culture into ugly tribalism be halted? Alabama voters will give their answer when they decide whether to send Roy Moore to the U.S. Senate.
Moore, 70, has built a long, disgraceful career out of smarmy religiosity spiked with tribal grievance. Having posed for years as the most pious of Christians, he now stands accused by nine women of un-Christian behavior: They claim convincingly that Moore, when he was in his 30s, aggressively pursued romantic or sexual relationships, including with teens barely half his age.
Successful demagogues can use tribal enmities to blind their followers to such moral and logical contradictions.
Moore uses his angry Christianity as a tool of self-aggrandizement. He uses the trust and passion of the Alabamians he defrauds to sully the reputations of women who bravely testify to his allegedly vile and creepy behavior.
Alabama’s three major newspapers ran rare front-page editorials Sunday imploring voters not to send this unworthy man to Washington. It is a sad sign of the times that I am not sure whether that hurt Moore’s prospects or helped them. The “mainstream media” is an enemy whose disapproval Moore cultivates to make his supporters love him more.
Moore is not invincible. He can be defeated — but only if Alabamians decide that honor, integrity and morality are more important than tribe.

Second, the Democrats care NOTHING about morality as exemplified with JFK, Tip O’Neil, Ted Kennedy, Barney Franks, Bill Clinton and a host of other homosexuals who participate in that party. For the left, the primary moral imperative is political victory. The conservatives have been historically hamstrung by principles and mortality, which is a distinct disadvantage.

Kyle Whitmire isn’t homosexual that I know of. He doesn’t seem gay in person either. But he’s sort of effete in an intellectual way, if that makes sense.
He’s sort of nerdy and bookish. He’s married, and his wife Aldo works for al.com, so their family is completely dependent on al.com to survive.

Isn't there redemption in this world?
We can be redeemed by Jesus Christ but also our life on Earth is meant for us to learn and correct the errors we make when we are younger. We make mistakes, especially when we are young, and if we are decent we see those errors and change ourselves for the better.
I do not believe any of the charges against Judge Moore and it seems that the supposed 14 year old was actually much older, but he became a good, God fearing, man and had lead a pretty impeccable life. A person needs to be able to redeem themselves and not be defined by something they may have done over 40 years ago and with every one of these accusations are total garbage.

The other columnist who hates Judge Moore is John Archibald. His wife and son both work for al.com, so that’s another family dependent on al.com for their entire livelihood.
But Archibald would hate Judge Moore no matter what, his brother is homosexual and John blames Christians for making life hard for homos.
