Only if the NFL implodes entirely. Until 2 years ago I was still a regular NFL viewer. It’s been 20 years since I paid close attention to the NBA. I’ll watch bits of an occasional regular Toronto Raptors game, but I find the lack of effort a turn off.
Not much of a choice there. Tweedle Dee, Tweedle Dum.
Actually the NBA will be declining on the heels of the NFL.
I agree that it will probably decline, just not as fast. Blacks will still watch it.
I think the NBA will be collateral damage due to the NFL and Baseball will take back the throne.
No it won’t. The NBA has a serious competitive balance problem. In the NBA you generally know as the trophy is hoisted which teams will meet in the championship round next year, with one “maybe” team in each conference. Last year the Cavs and Warriors met for the 3rd time in a row in the finals, with a combined playoff record to get there of 24-1. This lack of competition in the league is terrible for fans. This season the Celtics MIGHT upend the Cavs, nobody is upending the Warriors, and there is simply no reason to watch for any fan of any other team.
>>Its been 20 years since I paid close attention to the NBA.<<
I stopped watching when they stopped playing basketball in the NBA. It is all 3 pointers or slam dunks. Traveling hasn’t been called in decades (the “Jordan rule”).
It is all for the cameras. Just midnight basketball under the lights.
As if the NBA isn’t chock-full of Kaepernik wannabes.
I know I’m in the minority, but watching other people play games is an interest that has always eluded me, with the exception of baseball. Football and basketball I find especially tedious.
I used to watch NBA basketball in the era of Larry Bird but tuned out when it became mostly slam-dunks and trash-talking. I always liked the three-pointers and hook shots but those don’t seem to happen as much anymore. I hate slam-dunking.
I’m hoping they both implode.
Do you like watching other sing? Or dance? Or act?
You say that you do like watching baseball. So you do actually like watching others play games.
What was the point of your post again?
Both live or die on white money.
The NBA and MLB have the advantage of a large stage with international players while the NFL is almost entirely made of of American citizens.
Never liked basketball. I’ll stick with hockey. Each to his own....
>>And dribbling is non existent<<
“Traveling” us what they used to call moving the ball without dribbling. It used to be a penalty. Now I am amazed when I see the ball actually touch the floor (when I see it in a bar and the like).
Sorry, but a failing NFL does not make professional basketball any more interesting.
