Or, if you prefer Lord of the Rings, Annie Lennox's "Into the West," one of my favorites.
Several of the high-end choral ensembles in which I have performed have featured Vaughan Williams. That was my introduction to his music, which I have enjoyed.
THAT IS AMAZING!!
I love choral music. Sang in high school and college and still get chills from a good choir. Our nun was trained in Rome and she could do amazing things with our group.
What an amazing time you must have. Few things beat joining with others to create beauty.
Never seen “Ironman” and wouldn’t know who Downey is if s/he knocked my block off. The only real Holmes was Basil Rathbone, of course.
Whoopie isn’t offensive to me, but her only acting I’ve watched is on “Star Trek The Next Generation”.
The Flint movies are fun (if you’re talking about the James Coborn flicks). Of the movies you cited the only one I’ve seen is “Bev Hills Cop”. Eddie Murphy made some good comedies, “Trading Places” with Dan Akyroyd was great fun.
The 70s were good for one variety of humor I enjoy - the Monty Python and Mel Brooks type.
Love Basil Rathbone. Just got Pursuit to Algiers on a FR rec. Not a purist. I love the colorized versions, too. I loved Whoopie in Next Gen, as I did the man who played Q.
Yes, James Coburn. LOVED him. And the villain was the phone company!!! Also loved Eddie Murphy.
Mel Brooks is amazing. Young Frankenstein. Support Your Local Sheriff. Hold onto those movies before he’s banned for non-pc!
Colorized films are no problem, if I want to see the original I set the color saturation setting down to zero!
Rathbone and Nigel Bruce worked perfectly off each other. John de Lancie was an interesting character as Q, especially as the character developed. If TNG has just not had that annoying Wesley kid it could have been a lot better.
And Gila Golan in one of the Flint films was a nice plus, she’s a lovely creature.
Mel Brooks and quite a few other filmmakers could never make the films they made in the 70s today. A pity, since a lot of it - especially Brooks output - was more of the laugh at yourself/self-deprecating humor than anything else, such as in Blazing Saddles; the only competent character was Black Bart, the Sheriff.
>>annoying Wesley kid
YES!!!!!!!!!!!!
I do wish Nigel Bruce hadn’t portrayed such a naive, but sweet, Watson. In canon he’s quite competent.

I think many of the second bananas in mystery movies of yesteryear were bumblers to a more or lesser degree. Kind of a template of the era, especially during the 30s. Comic relief.
But Nigel was goodhearted and diligent as Holmes sidekick, which carried him thru the role quite well.
Very nice.
Thank you, moovova, sincerely.
he other people at work at the U of Chicago comp center thought I was a narc because I’m so straight.
I don’t do drugs neither!
Why does Youtube block your video when Neil Young is in it? I still like Buffalo Springfield!
I always looked to Davy Crockett as a childhood hero. I was right!
The reason I can put the videos up is that YouTube is able to do a comparison of my video and audio with a HUGE database of work. An artist gives permission for my video to be up in exchange for an ad on it, or an artist says their work ISN’T to be shown. So Neil Young is one of those, like Bob Dylan and Billy Joel, who blanket refuses anyone permission to use their work.
