The hot project du jour is Let Her Speak, a Mario Correa script that just got Sandra Bullock attached, subject to landing a director she likes. Bullock will play Democratic Texas State Sen. Wendy Davis, who on June 25, 2013, hit the national spotlight when, against extraordinary odds, she singlehandedly staged a 13-hour filibuster. Her stamina not only thwarted GOP leaders plans to enact one of the countrys most restrictive anti-choice laws, but resulted in the most far-reaching Supreme Court victory for reproductive rights in a generation.

I dont see why playing a part is such a bad thing. Didnt Anthony Hopkins play a guy who ate people? Yet he is still beloved. Sometimes we go to far with our craziness.
Well, sure, if this flick (accurately) presents abortion as a gruesome, homicidal practice and Wendy Davis as its callous apologist, then you're right. Sandy Bullock will just be playing a role. On the other hand, if this film is hagiography of Davis (as is ten thousand times more likely), then you're wrong. Bullock will be lending her talents to an evil cause. Hannibal Lecter isn't presented as a saintly fellow, and no one thinks Anthony Hopkins personally supports cannibalism.

Pure fiction. Congress didnt have the votes to over-ride Obamas veto.
This was a Texas bill, not federal legislation.

Sandra Bullock: yet another reason why the “I wish these were brains” pics are so appropriate.

As boring as a filibuster is, I cant begin to imagine how boring a movie of one would be...Yep. Even if a viewer is a fan of Abortion Barbie, this movie sounds like a snoozefest. These leftist "message movies" never make money (though it will no doubt receive critical raves and an Oscar nod for Sandra B).

Wasn't this the bill that required abortion clinics to be brought up to the same standards as other, more regulated, outpatient surgery clinics? And, almost all of them had to close because their standards were so ridiculously low to begin with?
Perhaps a better question to ask would be "Why does Wendy Davis think that women need to be operated upon in substandard surgical conditions?"

Talking for 13hrs is not a desirable nor difficult skill for a woman.
Hillary and Pelosi probably do that daily.

If they tell the story of Davis leaving her children to get a Harvard Law degree and then dumping the stepdad, etc. it might be worth watching. If the depth is as quality as her campaign even starring Sandra Bullock, the movie will bomb. Airhead opportunist that Wendy Davis seems to be.

Her stamina not only thwarted GOP leaders plans to enact one of the countrys most restrictive anti-choice laws, ... She was declared out of order two hours before the session ended. Her filibuster had zero to do with the failure of said bill. Rabble rousers made such a commotion that the vote on the bill could not be held in the remaining time alloted.
