DeBlasio unfortunately wins second term----total retching disgust
WABC radio | 11/7/17 | Me, Myself, & I

I know, I know, I expected it. But, cursed with a totally corrupt and incompetent mayor in DeBlASSio, I was hoping that numerous allegations of corruption, paying for his legal representation with TAXPAYER money, letting the schools, the infrastructure, etc. go to absolute hell during his tenure, having a distinct rise in crime, literally sneaking homeless shelters into neighborhoods in the middle of the night, selling off prime real estate to developers who contribute to his campaign, etc. would be enough for NYC residents to put down their freakin' cell phones for once, pay attention enough to make themselves informed voters, and then go vote. But no, they couldn't be bothered to exercise that right which good men (and women) died to protect. Democracy only functions with an educated populace who will take the trouble to participate, and these complacent duds could not be bothered. I really unloaded on my neighbors for not voting, and the wife for not even registering to vote. I walked in the cold and rain to get to my polling place and proudly wore my "I Voted" sticker out. But to no avail. Four more years as a reward for utter corruption and incompetence. I just cannot believe it. I have nothing but contempt and anger for my fellow NYC residents who were too lazy and too uncaring to bring about positive changes for the rest of us.

Bloomberg ran as a Republican because he thought that he probably could not have won the primary as a Dem. He was never a conservative.

He wins as long as ge remains pro-pervert, anti Christian, and above all, acknowledges abortion on demand as the sacred rite. It is the innocent blood sacrifice of the democrat party.

That’s what one party left wing rule looks like. Guy is an anti police communist embarrassment but it doesn’t matter.

Yes, exactly, and I’m not sure even he could win again. I mean, they now have a 2-term legit communist mayor.

New York, Newark, Chicago, Detroit and Cleveland will always elect corrupt Democrat mayors

he is further left on them than your average red state Democrat.

That's been true of New York Republicans since at least Teddy Roosevelt. If you're a New Yorker of a certain age, you may remember Nelson Rockefeller, Jacob Javits, Louis Lefkowitz and John Lindsay.

Wasn’t John Lindsay a Republican?

He was (at least when he was in Congress, and the first time he ran for Mayor). So were all the other politicians I mentioned in my post #51. New York used to have liberal Republicans, and they used to get elected.

#19. You can’t fix STUPID and NYC is one of the U.S. capitols of STUPID (besides DC, LA, SF, Chicago, Phila, Baltimore, some of Detroit, Minneapolis, Seattle and Portland, for starters)

In the western part of NY, the GOP didn't do too badly from what I am seeing so far. These are local races, of course, but WNY isn't exactly a GOP stronghold. Overall, looks like the day was a mixed bag nationally, but Dems will be a bit more energized for now.

Right, but the center keeps moving rapidly left. A progressive Democrat Bloomberg, whether or not he calls himself a Republican, likely could no longer defeat a communist who calls himself a Democrat.

You know, it's amazing how so many people outside of NYC can pontificate about how NYC gets what it deserves, when this nation elected Obama twice.

There are about 5 million registered voters in NYC, and yet Comrade de Blasio won about 670k of the 1.1 million votes counted. That means de Blasio won about 62% of the 21% of eligible voters casting ballots. That's hardly a mandate.

Hard as it may seem, there are many good people of virtue and morals living and working in NYC. There is lots of good stuff in NYC as well. My heart goes out to you, but as usually happens after an election, NYC won't crater. Godspeed.
