Stuck at the dental surgeon with my dad and I am being tortured by The View. Keith Olbermann is on, Whoopie opened her mouth and Joy the Witch is being herself. Wish I had some spit balls.

That´s why I bring my loaded Kindle.
Olberman? Wasn’t he 5150’d after the election?
Who let him out of the hospital?
Medical practices, etc., need to be smarter about customer relations than to let office staff control the TV. Sometimes I’ve been tempted to get up, walk over, and turn it off.
Turn it off. Find something else to do, cook, sew, go for a walk, read a book, etc.
I’ve always been accommodated happily when I ask if they’ll change the channel. But I’m in Texas.
Now you are going to hear from all the people who turned off there TV a long time ago.
I think i turned mine off 20 years ago? :)
There are other brands too but here’s one https://www.amazon.com/TV-B-Gone-Universal-Remote-Control-Keychain/dp/B0006GD9CE
Likewise, I bring my Kindle, but the TV competes. It’s like the airport. Captive audience. The default should be silence, not CNN, The View, etc. Silence would at least be fair.
Cook? At the dentist?
Dittoes.
TURN. IT. OFF.
You need to find a new dentist. Having your kid pull your tooth with a pair of pliers would be less painful than watching Olbermann.
LOL - super high power version looks like cell phone - https://www.amazon.com/TV-B-Gone-Pro-Super-High-Power/dp/B009NI8PRU/ref=pd_sim_23_4
I have gone out of my way to start patronizing places that don’t have a loud TV blaring in the waiting room. It is quite difficult to find them, but there are a few, and I find my sanity is worth the effort.
It’s usually HGTV when I am at a doctor’s office. I either bring a book/Kindle or take a snooze. If The Spew was on, I’d probably also need earbuds.
Not really a choice as I am at the dental office. Not the only person here.
Personally I do not have cable. Watch Hannity on YouTube and NCIS on CBS. That is it. I do have ROKU and Firetv
Yes, it is.
Just walk over and turn it off.
If they say anything say, I’ll be happy to leave, but I’m not going to be antagonized by moronvision while I await an appointment.
Every time I have an appointment, I am forced to watch The View, The Chew, The Real, The Whatever... DAMN daytime television is ****in’ stupid, and I have turned off the set a number of times. Just no.
I hope Megyn is having a good time in daytime womanvision land.
One time I was in a waiting room where somebody before me had muted the sound. The zombies still sat there and watched silent Montel.
At least you will have some relief when your dentist is drilling away on your tooth compared to listening to K.O. and Oopsie Goldblob?
OOPS, missed that part.
1) Ask them to mute the TV, if they refuse
2) Tell them you’ll wait outside, if they don’t like that
3) Walk out, find someone else.
