I've had DirecTV since it first came out. Had to put up and align my own dishes in the early days. Until a year or so ago I recorded all TV programming that I wanted to watch on my computer. Played stuff back skipping commercials.
My computer gave up the ghost and since my tech (really tech) days are behind me I couldn't get all the gear to function again even after the computer was finally fixed so I had DirecTVs whole home DVR system installed. While its very expensive it came pretty close to what I had before.
With one major exception,,,,,,,,, when the LIST button is used to see the list of recorded programs, programs with like names are put together under a folder. You can expand the folder but that means you really cannot see a list in time/date order. I called ATT/DirecTV and get no understanding at all.
Are there any DirecTV gurus and/or tech connections that understand my complaint? Are/is there an option to turn off this 'folder' thing which which prevents seeing all programs listed in time/date order????

LOL - that’s good to hear
They cut my monthly bill in half, locked it in for 12 months with no further obligation, added HBO/Starz and NFL Sunday Ticket (which I’ll have to remember to cancel at the end of the season).
What was your monthly before the reset?
Got it. Just curious but why would you want that? Seems to me you would be searching a long list to find a certain program. We binge watch on the weekends so it’s always cleaned off prior to the upcoming weeks programming.
Hope things work out for you.
Probably because the contact person is in Bangladesh or some other God-forsaken hole.

What deal did you get?
Not sure I understand what you want it to do.
If I record Rick Steves’ it creates a Rick Steves folder if there is more than one episode and inside that folder the episodes are listed by season and episode, with the air date in the second column.
Are you saying you want the shows to just list by date only?
Not sure you can do that...I am not sure the software will allow the 11-1 episode to float around after the 11-7 episode airs along with the other episodes of 11-1 of different shows. My understanding is that the folders allow you to catch up on episodes you might have missed by having them in one folder.
Why do you want to?

Thing is the windows are very large and you can watch them doing such from the street.
Ah...I just saw your later answer.
Sounds like that open/close that Rb suggested might work...I should try that just to see.

Damn, I was wunderin’. Just didn’t want to click it and screw up something else. Will try it as soon as I get back from bridge. Thanks.
Its one of those features that someone decided people needed.
Youre stuck
I’m very lucky I guess.
I literally live a mile down a gravel road in the middle of nowhere and we now have 100mbps fiber-optic cable internet.
There are two other houses on this road, one across the street and a farmhouse 2 miles further down. They actually ran the fiber all the way to that farmhouse where a 93yr old guy lives...no, he does not use the internet.
A friend of mine lives in Phoenix and all he gets is crappy slow cable or slower DSL. He scratches his head at my unusual bandwidth situation.

I just called and got a -$55/month loyalty reduction since I have had D-TV for 15 years.
The list does go in order, from bottom to top. In other words the last one in the list was the first episode recorded, the next one up the 2nd episode recorded, and so on.
“Loyalty” and “Reduction” weren’t in their vocabulary a few years ago.
