Breaking Bad actor Bryan Cranston, notably outspoken against then-candidate Donald Trump, recently changed his tone, calling out those who dont support the current president.
President Trump is not the person who I wanted to be in that office, and Ive been very open about that, Cranston said in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter on Monday. That being said, he is the president.
If he fails, the country is in jeopardy. It would be egotistical for anyone to say, I hope he fails, Cranston said. To that person I would say, fk you. Why would you want that? So you can be right?
The actor, currently promoting the Vietnam War-era movie Last Flag Flying, said he doesnt want that. I dont want him to fail, Cranston argued. I want him to succeed. I do. I honestly do.
The actors comments mark an abrupt change from previous remarks he made about the president before he was elected. In October 2016, Cranston said he would move to Canada if Trump were elected to office.
However, in the interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Cranston said regardless of political affiliations, hell support anyone with a good idea.
If youve got a good idea that helps the country, oh man, Im gonna support you, Cranston said. I dont care if youre a Republican and Im a Democrat or whatever, I dont care.
He added: Weve got to get away from this idea that our country is a political football, and someone with a different opinion is the enemy. Assume they love this country as much as you do, and theres always room for improvement. How can we make it better?

I appreciate his public support. Something quite rare in today’s Hollywood, but why does he feel the need to curse about it?
This is a highly trained actor, well past middle-age.
You’d think he would be more articulate and diplomatic.
Of course, there is a newer trend most with Democrats who equate using profanity with being sincere and ‘Woke’.
“Woke” being a pretentious term I hate.
My son met Cranston last fall at a Pitt football game. He and his friends had their picture taken with him. He was wearing a hillary button.
Forwarding this article to my son...
Thanks for posting.
He has a movie being released this weekend and wants flyover country to see it.
Vietnam War Era movie too. I wonder who told him to say this, his agent or the producers.
He's an ACTOR. They don't have any thoughts of their own. They recite other people's words. They pretend emotions. They do make-believe, like a child playing.
That "journalists" take an actor's opinion seriously says a lot about the mental capacity of journalism majors.
That said, they are still brighter than public school teachers...
Cue the Breaking Bad jokes.
His investment portfolio has increased hugely...
That sounds about right
Six months ago he was virulently anti Muslim
I well remember Rush Limbaugh taking a lot of liberal hate for openly wishing Obama would fail.
I agreed with Rush then, and I agree now. If only Obama had failed at many of his anti-American policies - we would not be stuck with ObamaCare and so much other crap.
So. If Liberals want Trump to fail - so what? That’s there problem, just like Obama was ours.
He has a movie coming out with military themes. I think this is just pandering to the audience for that film.

BINGO! We have a winner.............;)
I like his work on Breaking Bad.
Can’t stand him anymore. So he has a
movie coming out and now realizes he
supports our President. Phony BS, IMHO
The question is “fail in what endeavor?”
Obama’s stated goals were to “fundamentally change America” into something new. He stated he wanted to cut our military to the bone. He said he wanted to give away our sovereignty. His domestic goals centered around redistributing the wealth from the “privileged” to the “under served” groups.
I wanted him to fail in all of these endeavors. I was right to want him to fail.
What exactly are leftists hoping Trump fails at? Making America great? Improving our economy? Creating jobs? Securing the border? Upholding the laws of the U.S.? Making us win again on the global stage?
To be against these things is to be a traitor.
Agree. But at least he shows more smarts than Clooney, Damon, Kimmel, et. al.
Well there ya’ go.
Did Bryan Cranston get mugged?

I was glad to hear this yesterday. I know he has a patriotic themed movie coming out and wondered if that has anything to do with his come-to-Jesus moment.
Still, I’m giving him the benefit of the doubt here. It would be a huge sacrifice for any actor to speak out favorably toward Trump, movie or no movie. Other actors do patriotic movies, and still piss on our President. Cranston could’ve done that, too, but maybe he’s a lib who has the capacity to think for himself. There must be a few of ‘em. When anyone in Hollywood does the right thing, gotta give credit where its due. I hope he gets a lot of (the right kind of) publicity.
