The National Football League continues to struggle with furious fans as player protests enter their second month, with ratings for the NFL’s flagship ‘Sunday Night Football’ down a staggering 25% from this time last week.
According to Deadline Hollywood, television viewership for the troubled football association continued its free fall from previous weeks, with roughly one quarter fewer fans tuning in as the Detroit Lions faced off against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
“With that, as the league and broadcasters have been losing ratings traction and snared in political controversy this season, last night’s Week 8 NFL game is down a hard 25% for SNF from last week’s gridiron battle. That Super Bowl LI re-match saw the New England Patriots blowout the Atlanta Falcons 23-7,” writes Deadline.
The NFL has been struggling to regain its footing following weeks of players choosing to “take a knee” during the performance of the US national anthem. The ensuing controversy gained national attention when President Trump called for a total boycott of the NFL until officials and owners require players to stand during the ‘Star-Spangled Banner.’
As a result, ratings, ticket purchases, and merchandise sales have plummeted as football fans protest with their wallets.

Not watching the NFL again. Turned it off when the NFL thugs-on-parade flipped the bird to my country, my flag and my family that served in the military with their offensive “protests”.

This was a wake up for me. A blessing really. Such stupid wasted time watching football games. I am woke now and won’t be going back to that overhyped religion known as the NFL. The Eagles are doing great, but I haven’t watched a single game...and I don’t even miss it. Started watching a game one night and then a racist fist went up and I turned it right off. Won’t make that mistake again.

Just knowing about the player protests in the back of my mind is enough to kill my 50-year love for pro football.
The real dead giveaway will come after the Super Bowl when they announce the salary cap for the coming season. This season's was $167 million. If next season's is less, watch the panic ensue.
The left found a HUGE useful idiot (emphasis on idiot) in Roger Goodell and is laughing hysterically at the NFL. Yeah, they like the supposed protests but their main goal is to get rid of football and anything “manly.” Goodell is too stupid to see that.
It all started with the breast cancer thing and has mushroomed.
The monkeys are running the zoo. Sooner or later the zookeepers will have to wake up but its almost too late. The people that used to spend their money and Sundays have found something else to do.
