COOK COUNTY CRIMINAL COURTHOUSE A man on parole for second-degree murder was denied bail Monday on allegations he pistol-whipped someone during a brawl at Taco Burrito King in Greektown this weekend.
Anderson, 26, was captured on surveillance video repeatedly beating a 29-year-old man with a gun about 4:20 a.m. Saturday at Taco Burrito King, 811 W. Jackson Blvd., according to an arrest report.
Anderson, of the 7300 block of South Indiana Avenue, was convicted of second-degree murder in 2013 and sentenced to 18 years in prison, state records show. Details of that case were not immediately available Monday.
He was credited with serving more than four years in Cook County Jail while awaiting trial and later released on parole in October 2016.
For his alleged role in Saturday's Greektown brawl, Anderson now faces additional charges of unlawful use of a weapon by a felon, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and aggravated battery in a public place.
Cook County Judge Stephanie Miller on Monday denied Anderson bail.
Miller said Marc Raboteaux, a second man charged in the brawl, could be released on his own recognizance pending trial. According to police, Raboteaux, 31, punched multiple people in their faces and bodies during the fight.
Raboteaux, of the 7300 block of South Rhodes Avenue, is charged with aggravated battery in the attack. He was shot in his chest during Saturday's fight and remained hospitalized Monday. He did not appear in bond court at the Leighton Criminal Courthouse, 2650 S. California Ave.
According to court records, Raboteaux was previously sentenced to three days of community service for a minor offense in 2001. No additional details were immediately available.
A third man charged in the brawl, 26-year-old Deshaun Carter, is slated to appear in bond court Tuesday.
According to a Chicago Police spokeswoman, officers responded to a "battery in progress" call at Taco Burrito King about 4:20 a.m. Saturday.
When police arrived, they saw Carter holding a gun. In surveillance footage, Anderson can be seen dropping the gun to the ground after using it to pistol-whip the 29-year-old man, police said.
Witnesses told police Carter fired multiple shots during the brawl. Raboteaux was shot in his chest and taken in critical condition to Stroger Hospital. A 26-year-old woman, meanwhile, was grazed in her foot and refused medical care, police said.
Carter sustained a self-inflicted gunshot wound to his leg in the attack, court records show.
“Tariq”
Nothing good happens after 4:00am.
This is either the definition of "not a speedy trial" or just bad writing. Did it really take four years in jail before he had his trial?
Burritos at 4 in the morning??
I thought the Amish spoke German. Greek too?
Welcome home Tariq. We left the light on for you.
If he waited four years for a trial it would be because his attorney waived his right to a speedy trial with the agreement of Tariq.
Did he use the dreaded “Gun Show Loophole” to get the Pistol?
Out on light sentencing ...Ex Milwaukee sheriff David Clarke covered this in his statement posted earlier that MSM buried

This story is a crock.
The man was on parole, there are laws against him having a pistol - so clearly it is illegal for him to have a pistol.
Either way, it's crazy. "Tariq" shouldn't have been out on the streets. Marc Raboteaux, a second man charged in the brawl, could be released on his own recognizance pending trial. According to police, Raboteaux, 31, punched multiple people in their faces and bodies during the fight.
This guy is out on the streets or will be out when the doctor releases him.
What's with judges these days?
No I knew a guy who languished in Cook County jail for 4 years also.
