Newly released FBI documents in the 2012 Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting paint an even more disturbing portrait of killer Adam Lanza, suggesting his fascination with children verged on the obscene.
Connecticut investigators found a file on Lanza’s computer “advocating pedophiles’ rights and the liberation of children,” a recently unsealed document says. They also reportedly found a screenplay about a relationship between an adult male and a young boy.
There’s no evidence Lanza, 20, acted on sexual interests in young children before the school massacre, which killed 20 elementary school children and six adults before Lanza killed himself.

“His father has said that he’d been trying to see him for years.”
Really? Had not heard that at all. Just heard his father blast him after the shootings happened. Think he did say he not seen the kid but did not say why. I just assumed he did not want to.
Further evidence of his own abuse.
Surprised that you would have that perspective Morgana. A little old fashioned paternal responsibility was needed here. That boy was his son forever divorce or no divorce. Why would any decent man ignore or expect others to care for his own kin?

As is usually the case, there is probably evidence someone acted on him prior to this interest forming. Perhaps THAT should be investigated. Molestation has certainly sent many over the edge. A teacher, perhaps?
One person told the FBI that Lanza felt contempt toward the Sandy Hook school because his mother volunteered there, and he felt like she loved the children more than him.
Her having anything to do with the school was debunked shorting after the shooting. If they are still reporting blatantly fake news then you've got to ask why bring this old news up 5 years later. Who and what is benefiting from this? What's the oh so trustworthy FBI's agenda?

Alas, divorce courts often award full custody to the mother solely as prejudicial default, and some mothers will do _anything_ to make the father’s continued involvement practically or pragmatically impossible (I’m watching one case up close now - uuuuuuugly; poor kid is just a club to beat dad with).
Yes, maybe he just fled the family for a new life.
And maybe he can’t do a d@mn thing to be involved.
Suffice to say: it only took 1 disturbed kid in a house with 1 gun to figure out how to access it and perpetrate slaughter - and without that gun, he likely would have figured out some other way (gasoline comes to mind).
It is a pretty amazing resemblance.
And it is strangely ironic - given the topic of discussion here.
That alien was not real in the episode - it was just a dummy that a different alien was using to appear fearsome. The actual alien looked like a small child.

There is only so much one can do for someone who is mentally ill. If they won’t get treatment you can’t “force” them. Sounds to me as if the mom and dad were locking horns on how to deal with the boy as well and he really needed help.
In a divorce you know who will get the kid and dad will have no say.
So fine crazy mom won’t listen to dad who seems to have his act together. Now even crazier kid wants to bang small children and goes and kills them.

Am going to say something that a lot of people here are not going to like but f*** it, it’s true. A lot of these Asperger kids are into child porn. So much so that parents have come home from church and had the FBI raid their home, had them and the rest of their family kissing the carpet as their homes were searched because come to find out their Asperger kid was on line downloading kiddie porn.
This man dodged one hell of a bullet. Oh hell he dodged a freaking bomb. The man does not want to lose his cushy job at GE over a sex freak of a son.
BTW since I know you will want proof..here is once such story but I can find you ten more if you want.
One thing to be loved about people on FR is that they are not passive people. If there is injustice perpetuated by government, the courts, or misguided groups or individuals they speak up, fight and demand justice. If Lanza’s father felt the courts, hi ex wife or whatever was hampering or preventing his ability to exercise his paternal responsibilities to his son, he could have fought and tried harder. He, a bit like Jeff Flake, chose to withdraw and then whine. Fully understand the difficulty of the situation and would like to think that personally would act differently but appreciate the complexity and reality of the circumstances.
Very interesting and perhaps another understandable reason that the father was repulsed and withdrew. Yet he , more than any other person on earth, had the perspective and opportunity to avert this tragedy by showing up, seeing what was happening and doing something. Paternal responsibilities are not always pleasant or easy to exercise.
What could he do? If he did not have custody not a damn thing. You know these court systems. All for the BT’s. In this situation he did the best thing he got out ALIVE.
This is what people have to understand. Life is dangerous. There is NO way to prevent an Adam Lanza. The only thing that would have worked in this case was an armed officer at the school taking him out when he walked up armed.
Life will always be dangerous. There are reasonable precautions to always take, and allowing Americans to be armed helps, but there will always be bad guys and crazy guys. And accidents, and forces of nature. We have to be able to sit with that. It is better to live free in a dangerous, sometimes beautiful world than to live in chains in a safely padded world.

There was a pedophile molester that worked as a kindly old grandpa teacher’s aide at the local school. He worked in special education classes where the kid’s were not very verbal to report his abuse.
Once he realized he had been found out, he disappeared. LEO found he had already been convicted as a pedophile in two other states. They issued a federal warrant.
It’s unclear why he wasn’t caught in a national background check by the school before hiring him.
Respectfully, you know nothing about this family or the treatments he could have, should have, or was scheduled to receive. You and general others should not assume anything about them. If you did that, you would look wise.
