For a second weekend in a row, a low-budget movie will take out an exorbitantly-budgeted one for the top spot. Lionsgates Tyler Perrys Boo 2! A Madea Halloween, the sequel to last autumns surprise hit, is expected to make $20 million-$25 million in a crowded weekend that includes such wide entries as Warner Bros/Skydance Medias $120M-plus disaster film Geostorm (some say that the movie is way over that figure), Universal/Working Titles The Snowman, Sony/Black Label Medias forest firefighter movie Only the Brave, and PureFlix/Paramounts faith-based title Same Kind of Different as Me.

Geostorm. What a stupid idea for a movie.
Are you retarded?
Why does anyone watch those awful “madea” movies?
I can’t even stand the commercials!
But if it puts a thumb in the eye of the stupid looking GS I guess it is OK.
What happened to this guy after 300? I actually rooted for his character to kill Jamie Foxx in Law Abiding Citizen bec Foxx is a racist leftard.
I enjoyed him as a Secret Service agent in “Olympus Has Fallen”. That was a lot better than the Jaimee Foxx version of the same idea.
Of course Geostorm crashed. People are tired of fake climate stories outside of the movies. They sure as hell aren’t going to waste $10 on it.
Do you recommend Olympus? No lefty talking pints in it?
lol So did I!!
Saw “Same Kind of Different as Me” last night. Our local Gospel mission rented out the theater and invited regular contributors in for a movie night.
It was long, but emotionally inspiring and involving. Renee Zellweger was pretty good. Djimon Hounsou was extraordinary.
Please tell me which movies belong to perv Weinstein so I can be sure I don’t see them.
They are funny. She is a total riot.
In October 2009, during a 60 Minutes interview, Perry was read a quote of Spike Lee’s comments about his work and responded, “I would love to read that [criticism] to my fan base. ... That pisses me off. It is so insulting. It’s attitudes like that that make Hollywood think that these people do not exist, and that is why there is no material speaking to them, speaking to us.” Perry also stated that “all these characters are bait disarming, charming, make-you-laugh bait. I can slap Madea on something and talk about God, love, faith, forgiveness, family, any of those.”[63] In an interview with Hip Hollywood, Perry responded to Spike Lee’s comments by telling him to “go to hell.”[64]
You tell ‘em, Tyler!!
Gerard Butler turns up in as many stinkers as Nicolas Cage. I think he’s a good actor - actually they both are - but he needs some help choosing roles.
And I will walk away. Every time.
Well, gee, thank you for that enlightening comment.
You’re welcome.
Not that I recall, it was an enjoyable show.
Warner Bros. has spent about $5 on publicity for Geostorm. I don’t know if it’s any good, but most folks haven’t even heard of it.
