Vanity Fair: Bannon believes Trump only has 30% chance of completing full term
CNN ^ | October 11, 2017 | Sophie Tatum

Washington (CNN)Former White House chief strategist Steve Bannon has privately confided that he believes President Donald Trump only has a 30% chance of completing his full term, a source told Vanity Fair.

According to two of Vanity Fair's sources with knowledge of the conversation, Bannon warned Trump several months ago that the biggest threat to his presidency is not impeachment by Congress, but the 25th Amendment -- which could allow his Cabinet to vote to remove him.

CNN has been unable to independently confirm these reported conversations. Bannon could not be reached for comment.

The 25th Amendment to the Constitution is a measure that establishes a system for replacing the president or vice president in case there is a death, removal, resignation or incapacitation.

Also, if the vice president "and a majority of either the principal officers of the executive departments or of such other body as Congress may by law provide" make a "written declaration that the president is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office, the vice president shall immediately assume the powers and duties of the office as acting president."

They couldn’t beat Trump in the polling place and their unethical candidate Hillary didn’t win so they keep on manufacturing stories to get Trump out of office. Give it a rest liberals - you lost. We suffered with Obama for eight years. It’s your turn. Unfortunately for us, many Republicans in D.C. prefer the old “do nothing but pad my pockets” approach rather than positive reform.

Vanity Fair “bible” of the entertainment industry, will report all sorts of unsourced, crazed rumors about Trump yet they somehow missed out on decades of allegations of rape and sexual harassment about one of the leading “lights” of Hollywood and prime Clinton donor, Harvey Weinstein. I wonder why?

This reminds me of reading in Graig Nettles’ book “Balls”, about his time as a New York Yankee, in which the New York Post in particular would put out comments or stories about one player or another just to get Billy Martin or someone else angry and start some controversy in the clubhouse. It would not matter if the whole thing was completely baseless and manufactured and fake and it was something that Steinbrenner apparently took great delight in in many instances.

The new narrative is that Trump is dangerous and crazy and that the cabinet is running the country. Folks, the Deep State is beyond desperation now and they’re reduced to spreading rumors and innuendo about this administration in a desperate attempt to get the president to resign. Pretty pathetic!

If Trump leaves office by any means other than natural death or term limit, CWII will commence in earnest.

“totally unpredictable for sure”

We know the outcome would be unspeakably ugly. Who would win is unclear (I have my suspicions), but the number of losers would be much higher than in 1861-1865.

If the Cabinet attempted to remove Trump I think that would cause some serious problems...unless he was certifiably insane or some other debilitating issue.

Even if Banbon said it, still is dangerous nonsense. President is sane and healthy. Anyone removes him saying otherwise and our democratic republic is gone so all bets are off.

Way better odds than Trump had of winning the election if you believed the lame stream media.

...is not impeachment by Congress, but the 25th Amendment -- which could allow his Cabinet to vote to remove him.

I don't think Bannon said this, because I don't think he's that stupid. The "cabinet" can't remove Trump under the 25th amendment (unless he truly is in a coma and can't object.) The 25th amendment is worded precisely to prevent such a "coup", all the President has to do is contest the cabinet's contention that he is unfit to fulfill his duties and then it is kicked into congress who most vote in 48 hours with 2/3 of BOTH houses required to remove the President.

Here is the text in question, decide for yourself:

Section 4. Whenever the Vice President and a majority of either the principal officers of the executive departments or of such other body as Congress may by law provide, transmit to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives their written declaration that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office, the Vice President shall immediately assume the powers and duties of the office as Acting President.

Thereafter, when the President transmits to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives his written declaration that no inability exists, he shall resume the powers and duties of his office unless the Vice President and a majority of either the principal officers of the executive department or of such other body as Congress may by law provide, transmit within four days to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives their written declaration that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office. Thereupon Congress shall decide the issue, assembling within forty-eight hours for that purpose if not in session. If the Congress, within twenty-one days after receipt of the latter written declaration, or, if Congress is not in session, within twenty-one days after Congress is required to assemble, determines by two-thirds vote of both Houses that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office, the Vice President shall continue to discharge the same as Acting President; otherwise, the President shall resume the powers and duties of his office.

Hey, this is an easy one. Call Bannon out on it. If he’s the one starting the rumor, then stuff it back down his throat.

The President can continue to inform Cogress that he’s fit, VP remains acting POTUS throughout until such time as the real president survives a Congressional vote. It’s not intended to be used in the way liberals fantasize.

From the headline, I was thinking the story was referring to the Bernie supporters that want Trump dead.

There is no path to 270. If he wins he will not become president, he just runs to prove himself. He will not last a week. He will not last a month. He will not last 3 months...

“We suffered with Obama for eight years.”

Whenever I’m feeling a little blue I remember that these trolls are waking up feeling as miserable as I felt 2008-2016.
Then I burst into several verses of “The Happy Wanderer” and wifey asks me if I need to go to the immediate med center.
‘Val-a-ree! Val-a-ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!’
