FULL TITLE: Former Seattle Seahawks player says women are 'incapable of knowing football' and should stop trying to 'move into male spaces'
Former Seattle Seahawks player John Moffitt said in a Facebook post on Sunday that women are 'incapable' of understanding football.
In the post, the former offensive lineman, who retired from the NFL four years ago, also said women were 'moving into male spaces and demanding respect'.
The comment comes five days after Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton was criticized for saying he thought it was 'funny' that a female reporter was asking questions about wide receiver routes on Wednesday.

I know a few women who can hold-their-own in a football conversation. If a geek like Skip Bayless can hold down a job at ESPN for years than I imagine a few women could do that job.
I played football growing up because I had two brothers. We always had a game going.
Moffitt is an idiot. That said I didn’t think that Newton’s comment or bemusement was sexist or offensive. He probably was amused that he was being questioned about routes by a female. The reporter should have shrugged it off

Love your comment... I had Eight Brothers growing up and I (a female) was the best at throwing the football with a tight spiral. I love sports, was actually covering high school sports as a correspondent when I was 19. Unfortunately, I had to get full-time work and had to let go my $5 a story job with the newspaper. Currently I am leading my office in picking the Nfl Winners.

My Grand daughter and G. Gran are Gator’s fans and yes they both under stand the game, even at 13 the G. Grand knows the plays.

What if women football commentators were drawn from the ranks of the lingerie football league? Then they’d have on-field football experience. And some of them are lookers, too.

My bet is many black NFL players can’t do a math problem without a calculator . I know many women who love football and understand it well .
What we do know is a bunch of multi-millionaire children prancing about in tight uniforms bashing each other to get a ball into something called an End Zone where they prance around some more. They play for about fifteen minutes in a three hour game that’s only four quarters (an hour).
I truly think you cannot fully understand the game at the NFL level unless you have suited up and played it. I played high school football, was a three year starter, have good verbal communication skills, but even I would feel woefully inadequate, from a technical perspective, to be an analyst/ commentator for a NFL game.
My best football moment with the wife (who does get the game) came with a Yahoo app. I noticed the app had the plays prior to the TV due to delays. Well you can see where this is going as I would say “any fool can see they should run left” knowing they had run left for 5 yards already. Lol Finally my wife was like “how can you see this if they can’t!!!” Shaking my head I said they’re not rocket scientist down there.
Yeh because its so involved only ghetto thugs can properly understand it. LOL!
