FULL TITLE: Miami Dolphins owner FORCES players to stand on the field during national anthem - as three refuse and remain in the tunnel
Miami Dolphins players were forced by the team owner to stand before Sunday's game when a military band played the national anthem.
Stephen Ross, who was an advocate for players protesting in the past during the national anthem, changed his views on the issue after comments President Donald Trump made saying players should be fired and referred to them collectively as 'son of a b***h.'
Before the team's game against the Tennessee Titans on Sunday, Ross said: 'Trump has made [standing for anthem] about patriotism. It's so important if that's what the country is looking at to look at [the protest] differently.'
Ross asserted that the issue last year was raising awareness for equality and other subjects that did not involve patriotism.

They just spent 500 million renovating that hell hole and most of it was their money, not the taxpayers.
Ross had damn well better have those cretins standing and doing backflips during the Anthem, the Florida Panthers are going to have a RECORD SEASON ATTENDANCE, and its going to come at the expense of the Dolphins.
It was always about patriotism, no matter what the millionaire cry-bullies said.
at least this one owner wants to stay in business
(good for him)
if the damned players won’t even show the minimal respect for us to stay vertical for our flag or national anthem,
they can go straight to Hell as far as I am concerned
I like equality and support the effort to achieve it.
I would like for black crime statistics per capita to be equal with whites for starters.
When they play the national anthem of the Gold winner of each contest, and display their National Banner at the Olympics, isn’t that a patriotic salute to that Country?

These three should immediately be released...otherwise the owner is going to look like a complete PANSEY.
Standing is one thing. Standing with hand over heart is another.
But being forced to do either— shows me the player and where his allegiance is.
MAGA!
My employer forces me to do things too. And then he pays me very well for it. Bastard.
There is no free speech at work. Well, there is, but if your employer doesn’t like it, you get fired.
Not sure why this has been such a difficult concept for the left. It isn’t anything new.
The headline is Fake News. The word in scream caps is Fake News.
The players weren't "forced" to stand. The players were told that they weren't allowed on the field if they didn't stand.
“I have never worked for a company that allowed me to express my political opinions while at work on company time wearing company provided clothing and safety equipment”
Unless whatever opinions you wanted to express aligned with ownership or senior management.
...as three refuse and remain in the tunnel...Stephen Ross, who was an advocate for players protesting in the past during the national anthem, changed his views on the issue after comments President Donald Trump madeIOW, he's a damned weathervane -- in addition, until he fires the three ****s who refused, this is a just a meaningless bit of PR. Thanks Morgana.
Money talks $hit walks. And stands.
All the players signed a contract. Why would part of that contract language not include that by signing, they agree to abide by all of the rules and regulations of the club as well as the NFL?
With that in there, they should be fired immediately.
Drain the locker room!
Angry Dolphins fans may have been able to forgive and comeback if the three in the tunnel had been on the field, standing or out of a job but...alas and again...Ah well...
What would be nice is if they took any decrease from ticket sales, advertising, and concessions, and deducted the same percentage from the kneelers paychecks.
It should fairly easy to give the players a choice:
<>Door #1 enter the playing field
<>Door #2 exit to the parking lot
Ross only cares about $$$$.
How many illegal Mexicans play in the NFL?
