I long ago proposed that everyone be required to openly carry a handgun and if they had an objection based on personal beliefs to carry a realistic replica. I couldn’t imagine some perp knocking over a 7-11 when every customer in there was potentially a lethal deterrent. Way out west where many citizens went heeled had a much lower rate of violence than most people believe (thanks to movies, mostly).

I remember reading it when it came out, because George Will commented on it publically. I got my hands on a copy and have relished it since then.
