A thoroughly corrupt government/media/justice system is regarded with suspicion and cynicism by the people. And rightly so. The system has surrendered its moral authority.

Such a system is eventually going to collapse. It’s only a matter of time.

Republics positively demand the trust and faith of the people. OTOH, trust and faith are absent under authoritarian regimes.

Our system has already collapsed. Self-government is gone. Congressional elections especially do little more than condone criminality.
