CHICAGO (CBS) An Elgin school district board member has apologized to fellow board members, after creating a firestorm of criticism when she wrote on Facebook that the American flag means nothing more than toilet paper to me.
Last month, Elgin Area School District U-46 board member Traci ONeal Ellis wrote on Facebook wrote a Facebook post supporting NFL players who chose to kneel during the national anthem.
In her post, Ellis wrote the flag means nothing more than toilet paper to me. At the districts board meeting Monday night, she stood by her original comments, but apologized for the distraction her words caused.
I make no apologies for my comment about the flag. I made them as a private citizen, and taxpayer in this country, on my personal Facebook page, about a matter of import in the current national discourse, and based upon my personal lived experiences, she said. However, I could have been much more circumspect in my criticism and more elegant in my language. Please accept my apology for this.

She be activated. Bet she woke, too.
She has no problem with “private” postings being made public:
Okay, then. Let’s see if she can do without toilet paper.
i think she should be banned from using toilet paper, and then see how she thinks...
hehehe
The left just gets more and more nuts every day. I was looking at the instagram posts of Tom Pettys daughter yesterday, and while her father was dying, she still found the time to bash Trump. How’s that for dedication?
Sadly, she was probably the product of the long-degenerate public school system, and is just regurgitating the venom.
“This isn’t who I am”, a statement even more shallow and meaningless than “he was just starting to turn his life around”.
F you too Ellis!

B*tch is not a credit to her race.
Isn’t she elected. That’s why Waters and Jackson-Lee are still there. Their voters are idiots.
I never would have guessed!!
She’s elected, I think..................
Next election, maybe........a BIG maybe.............
Looks like a good place to send some gently used “bathroom tissue.”
That’s no apology.
Maybe Afrika would be more to your liking, Traci.
Give it a try.
School Board Members are generally elected officials. It is up to the voters now.
