Once again, the big downside of American freedom is on gruesome display. A psychotic gunman in Las Vegas has committed the worst mass murder in U. S. history.
64-year-old Stephen Paddock, who lived in Nevada, began firing from a hotel window about 10pm Pacific time last night. His targets were folks attending a music festival below him. When it was all over, more than 50 human beings lay dead, 400 plus wounded. Paddock apparently killed himself as police closed in on him.
The murderer had a number of deadly weapons in his room and you can count on the gun control debate to ramp up.
But having covered scores of gun-related crimes over the years, I can tell you that government restrictions will not stop psychopaths from harming people.
They will find a way.
Public safety demands logical gun laws but the issue is so polarizing and emotional that little will be accomplished as there is no common ground.
The NRA and its supporters want easy access to weapons, while the left wants them banned.
This is the price of freedom. Violent nuts are allowed to roam free until they do damage, no matter how threatening they are.
The Second Amendment is clear that Americans have a right to arm themselves for protection. Even the loons.

If I recall correctly, after Hasan shot up Ft Hood, he made the utterly ridiculous comment about military bases having gun all over the place. Obviously, too stupid and arrogant to know, or actually research and learn that possession of weapons on bases is very restricted. Sure there are lots of guns there...Locked up in unit armories. Only folks that have them are MPs/SPs/SFs and DoD Police, like the ones that responded to the shooting at Ft Hood.

The media coverage on this is truly bizarre. Here you have the “Muzzi” ISIS claiming involvement showing up everywhere in the UK press but gets buried here in the US.
Shouldn’t this be left up to Moslems to deny any involvement ?
Why wont they ? Perhaps it’s because according to their codex known as Sharia the actions taken by Paddock has been sanctioned by Almighty God.
Because most political perverts don’t believe in such a thing as God they can’t concieve of followers of Islam believing in what they are doing is actually serving God. It must be something else.
So the progressive perverts running the show avoid bringing that up and blame guns.

Violent menace are permitted to roam free until the unavoidable incident occurs.
We are told that they are practically normal if only they hold to their pill schedule and don’t augment it with additional psychotropics or skip a dose now and then.
If they are certifiable they need to be under lock and key. House arrest. Protective guardian. etc. If they are unaccountable for their actions by reason of insanity then they are not to be permitted to freely roam without a LEGAL GUARDIAN who will look out for their activities.
Whether ISIS motivated this action or not, they certainly applaud it and hope for more.
