Of course, we split up, eventually. When a couple isn’t having sex, especially a younger couple, the frustrated energy has to go somewhere. It usually ends up going outside the relationship, and it did.
He had an affair — galling, given our situation — and that was the end of things. I was 41. I ran away and regrouped. What followed was a decade of sexual seeking and exploration, a campaign of self-education.
My mission was never again to fall into this no-sex relationship trap. What had happened and why? I was determined to find out. I allowed myself to be a guinea pig, and took many bold and courageous leaps. In doing so I tried everything, and today, aged 52, I’m much more sexually confident.

She lives 120 miles away. She had alcohol-induced dementia. Stealing is impossible. She’s basically an advanced Alzheimer’s case that lives outside a facility.
She would sit on her stoop and drink wine while smoking and was fascinated because men would stop and talk to her. When I go back home, I take her out walking just to get her out of the house where she lives with her special needs son who thankfully works.
My wife and I solved this problem on our wedding day when we both said “I do.”
She is my wife, my lover, my confidant, my friend. We have treated each other this way for 28 years.

And to catch you up, there is very little help for dementia patients below 60 years old. It’s like it doesn’t exist.
Her brother-in-law went into a facility at age 48 for CTE Dementia.
Unfortunately I don’t. But if (God forbid) I’m ever widowed, I’ll look you up.

But let me brag on my husband and how my change of attitude changed him. Today I was cleaning the bathroom and he walked down the hall. He’s been watching college football so I’m just going about my little chores.
He sees me holding the back of toilet cover (I was dropping on of those little bleach thingies in there), and he stops dead in his tracks and says, “Baby, don’t lift that, let me get that for you.”
I’m not by nature a submissive person. But once I started submitting in my marriage, my life changed so very much.
He needed me to need him, and once I figured that out, he became the man of my dreams, instead of the guy I was wishing would change.
I’m blessed beyond measure. God blessed me also with a baby after 12 years of infertility. And NOTHING changed but my attitude.
So I’m starting to realize that I’m getting a little preachy here, but I totally believe in letting men be men, honoring the position in the family and submitting. I’m all about making him happy.
Those guys are as bad as the communists and other leftists.
Maybe worse for society even.
