Packers Win As ‘Thursday Night Football’ Ratings Drop In CBS Season Debut
Deadline Hollywood ^ | September 29,2017 | Dominic Patten

However, it still was not a good result for CBS and the NFL as the matchup went late and delivered 9.9/18 in metered market ratings. That’s down 13% from the 2016 TNF opener on CBS and NFL Network when the New York Jets beat the Buffalo Bills 37-31. In the first of five TNFs that CBS has this year, last night’s game was shown on NFL Network and made its live debut on Amazon Prime.

Yep - watched 2 games the first week and decided not to tune in any more games for at least a year - still following the downfall with avid “FANatical” interest though...;-)

"Texas Longhorns were playing. Much better than watching NFL football. And they held on for the win in a scrappy game. Hook ‘em!!!!"

Indeed! I thoroughly enjoyed that game. After their narrow loss to USC, I hope they're on a winning path this season. A bit disappointed that Ehlinger didn't get the start.

When I was very little a blind guy i met he had a business listening to what station or channel your radio/tv was tuned to by listening to the intermittent frequency used to demodulate the information signal from carrier save signal. He had to be very close though. His wife would go up to the house and collect demographic data. This was in the 70s. I think you are safe

Disappointing. They are publicly owned non profit. Anyone can buy a share. The Board of Directors is as gutless as the owners for the other teams. The NFL operations manual stipulates how the players are to behave when the anthem is played. Technically they complied by standing and they must hold their helmet in the left hand.

Maybe there’s nothing else to do in GB. Well at least the vast majority did not comply with AR’s ridiculous arm in arm garbage. They crossed the line last year for me and I haven’t watched since.

TV viewing down but stands were FULL. So nobody is giving up their tickets

Maybe there; but, there are still good seats available (according to local news this a.m.) for the next Seahawk game. The number I heard from this radio guy was 9,000 seats.

Maybe not a big deal in a lot of markets; but, in Seattle, the Seahwawks are a must go ticket, if you are lucky enough to get one. A caller into this radio show said that he has been on a list for a better seat location for years. He just got an email telling him that they have good seats available if he wants them. For years, he has wanted them, now, he turned them down.

These players are killing the golden goose, and I don't think they realize what they are doing to themselves. How stupid is this, to completely offend your customer base. Do they not realize that they are going to be affected financially from this nonsense?

I’ll be curious to see the stands for the Cowboys game. A lot of season ticket holders are corporate types who can afford to eat the ticket.

Yep. They call everyone else stupid but don’t even realize they’re been fooled every day. Their echo chamber is reality to them and anyone that isn’t like them is just some crazy minority that needs to be mocked.

...except they’re the crazy minority and have no idea because the media sings the same tune.

Most of middle-America however.... :)

All they’ve succeeded at is to expose themselves for what they are, turning more against them...at least waking people up. For those that voted for President Trump they’ve only galvanized those votes.

My son is in his mid-20’s, he sees ALL of it - I didn’t at that age. The left doesn’t see the tsunami approaching from behind.

I hope they're on a winning path this season.

Gotta do something about that offensive line if they want the winning to continue.

I’m not talking about democrat and republican. I’m talking about in general. The media is playing the narrative that keeps the divide growing between classes, races, etc.

People have thousands of dollars invested and already paid for in advance for season tickets. They can’t walk away until renewal time. Others have paid thousands for PSL, private seat licenses that give them the right to purchase their seats.

“Obama” African-American football players and their liberal, Democrat brothers on the field = DUMB, DUMBER & DUMBEST!!!

I really have to laugh, these Obamabot empty suits have nary a clue as how bad Obama screwed all African-Americans during his eight years as POTUS. Ditto for the Congressional Black Caucus, the NAACP and the entire Democrat Party, led by Hillary Clinton!!! Will these people never wake up to reality and, hos they have been used and abused by their own kind!!!

No business can survive very long if revenues drop 6% or 7% year over year. If revenues dropped 7% dropped every year for 12 years revenue would be down 50%. If revenue dropped 13% per year every year revenue would be down 50% in less than 6 years. Very few NFL players have degrees in mathematics.

Oh, if only the MSM would follow the same business model...
