The iconic founder of Playboy Magazine Hugh Hefner died at 91, the magazine announced Wednesday night.
The publisher of the quintessential mens lifestyle magazine built an empire around the alluring business.
Playboy announced his death in a tweet.

Odd, though. I have no idea who Hefner really was. There really were articles in Playboy (or so I'm told) and it was at least at one time a place for some very prestigious authors to preen. But what little I ever read of Hefner's "philosophy" was shallow even by hedonism's standards.
Oh, and I still think Barbi Benton was adorable. She's been happily married for 38 years now. God, I'm old.
Jimmy Connors’s wife, now married for 38 years. She may have been about the single hottest Playmate, hands down. She had at least the most memorable “come hither” photograph that can’t be posted here.
I think that photo may be at least a dozen years old, back when he was running for the Senate for the first time against Corker.
They say Hef is in a better place.
I'm trying to imagine what that must be like.
