The head coach's attitude is upsetting. If he really didn't want controversy, he would've told those who weren't going to stand to stay in the locker room, and the rest of the team go out on the field. The coach in essence told his players they couldn't go out on the field and stand for the pledge and the national anthem, and only one player defied him.

I'm going to go where we should be very careful about treading. Is the racism of favoring the position of blacks by a black coach acceptable? Speaking out against a Veteran who respects the flag is not acceptable.

If an Army vet sports a Combat Infantryman's Badge or a Marine sports a Combat Action Badge, these men can be assumed to be the most vociferous in defense of their brothers in arms and their countrymen.
