When billionaire owners pay millionaire players to play a game, you would think that the players’ personal expression be suppressed - they wear “uniforms” after all. Why can’t political opinions or “issues expression” be negotiated in their lucrative contracts? The players’ juvenile oubursts needs to be “brought to heel” to borrow a phrase from Hillary Clinton.

My father was a great college football player sought by the pros (turned them down as bad career/financial choice) watched football all his life. Took us to games.

Agreed. I’m glad Trump is outspoken about the disrespect shown to our country by those who have benefited the most. He has kicked over the hornets nest, though, and it will be very interesting to see how rjit will all “play out” (no pun intended).
