The San Francisco 49ers Thursday night game against the Los Angeles Rams kicked off in front of a nearly empty stadium.
Los Angeles Times reporter Lindsey Thiry tweeted a photo at the time of kickoff, which showed thousands of open seats. In fact, most sections in the photo have more empty seats than fans.

And it’s probably not even game time as one team isn’t even on the field or the sidelines...
Still way more fans than the NFL deserves.
Both teams are there. They’re getting ready for the opening kickoff.

Yay! Ungo, team!
You mean “Why is it so High”?
It isn’t “shocking”. It is good and it is hopefully a growing trend. The owners pander to the idiot racist ingrates who insult America and America’s heritage. The he** with them.
The stadium Jed built..
and Kaep nuked.
NFL is a waste. Fans are all overly involved acting like it’s their city vs another city but reality is it just a bunch of guys from all around the country vs another bunch of guys from around the country. What a Farce!!!
And now even more of a farce.
totally fake news, showing pics before opening, a few minutes before and after half-time break, when people try to beat the crowd to the bathrooms and food courts or are late getting back.
I watched the game and carefully looked at all the wide shots of the stadium, and not once did it look even close to the bogus pics repeated by a plethora of “stadium empty” fake news articles.
This same trick was used to try to minimize the crowds at Trump events. I didn’t fall for it then and I don’t fall for it now.
Several years ago I was in Detroit for the MAC Championship Game at Ford Field, think I paid about $30 for a seat. I noted that the Lions and Cowboys were playing the following day so I checked on getting a ticket, it started at $250.
I was much more comfortable watching the game from my recliner.
Now I follow college football and rarely know what is happening in the NFL. I did take an interest during Carolina’s Superbowl run (I loved how the Panthers gave TD balls to kids) and I was a Cam Fan. Until Cam proved himself a perfumed prince and stepped back from his fumble.
I’m still watching the Denver Broncos. I do not have any form of pay TV. Just an antenna on the roof. There are a massive amount of sports on TV these days. With the ultra huge TVs these days, there is no need to go to the stadium for a live presentation. And the head injuries. It may be that football is not healthy and is past its prime for a reasonable nation.
It was actually a good game!
