PASADENA (CBSLA) — There was something missing at Pasadena’s Apple Store for the Friday release of the iPhone 8 – a line of eager fans.
Previous releases of the iPhone attracted hundreds of Apple fans waiting in the early morning hours at several stores across Southern California.
The Apple Store has a ticketing system, but that never stopped eager iPhone fans from camping out overnight.
But on Friday morning, all was quiet on Colorado Boulevard, except for employees inside the store handing out tickets.

The iPhone 8 and 8 Plus touts new features like wireless charging, new camera features, and a faster processor.
The lack of a line may be due to more people waiting for the November release of the iPhone X, which has a more drastic redesign.
The updated Apple Watch and Apple TV also went on sale Friday.
I’m an Iphone 6S user and might get the X but I can’t see a reason for getting the 8. It seems like a very modest upgrade from the 7.
I upgraded and the same thing as with every major Apple upgrade: Battery life is horrid. The two best features is the scanner ability and QR code reader built in.
That’s it.
Apple has shown no real reason for people to fork over a thousand bucks for their latest version.
The market is saturated...............
One would think Apple would address that above all else.
If anything would get people to buy a new iPhone, a longer battery life would!.....................
Who can get excited over incremental gains.
That’s Apple’s main problem.
No more ‘innovations’..............
I have a 5s. Am planning on upgrading. Ain’t getting the X. If I’m gonna drop a grand would rather get a mac air
If that’s the case I’m not a bit surprised.
Their big announcement was a nothing burger,
the 8 is just a warmed over 7,
the watch burns up the battery if you use it as intended,
you won’t be able to get the $1200+ X until next year,
nobody wants face recognition,
and fast charging is an extra $75 bucks.
That’s it.

Many product, clothing, car and eating cults often just fade away, when the cult members realize the high prices they are paying isn’t worth it anymore.
Can we say Apple has ‘Jumped the Shark’?....................
Probably because the fanboys are wanting the X instead of the 8.
It’s all about the X. Apple fans are waiting for that.

Facial recognition scares me. I like the fact we can use it to catch the bad guys at events.
The police should arrest anyone with a mask or face covering.

As with my computer, there's no real reason up buy a new device until my current one gets tired and worn out. They've pretty much run out of "compelling" new features to put in the things.
Being the Fanboi that he is, it wouldn’t surprise me.............
I’m at the point where I think I am going to have to switch to Android. I have been an iPhone customer for years. I don’t want to switch, I want to stay with the iPhone, but Apple is making it harder and harder for me. It will be a huge hassle, a major inconvenience, and I really don’t want to do it, but I really feel like they are pushing me away, forcing me to stop using their product even though I want to continue using it.
They keep removing the features that I like and adding features that are annoying, invasive and/or useless. They refuse to give me even simple options to customize things, and force me to use their product in a way that I don’t want to have to use it.
Just about anything people could need or want is either already in it or there’s an APP for it................
