So beets, saffron, and pumpkin didn’t work out?

I had my first bowl of Fruity Pebbles in 25 years earlier this year. Post ruined the formula. The texture was completely different, completely unlike the fruity version of the previously discontinued Rice Krinkles they are supposed to be. Further the dominant flavor was the recently (to me) introduced “blue”. Basically the product tasted like Froot Loops.

Last summer I discovered that Special K was also ruined. The unique texture was completely gone. Do any of the knock-offs taste like REAL Special K?

I guess the organic Trix breakfast cereal market was overestimated, lol.

We never server our kids sugar for breakfast. Except on their birthday. They got to pick it out, and they always bought the generic jumbo bag to share with siblings.

They all have good teeth and no weight problems.

Eating Trix and most other boxed cereals aimed at kids, for breakfast, is just about the same as consuming a big bowl of refined sugar. About the same nutritional value, too.

Something else is happening too.
Snacking peanut companies are raising the salt levels in many of their mixes. Yay, I say! If I want to chew flavorless paper pebbles, then I will purchase flavorless paper pebbles.

I’m so glad that I grew up in a time when we could eat all of the artificially preserved CRAP that we wanted, Trix Cereal, Space Sticks, Wonder Bread and Swanson TV Dinners, included!

And we could ride our bikes without being wrapped in Bubble Wrap.

And we could play outside, unsupervised, for 12 hours a day in the Summertime and after supper, until the street lights came on, when we had school.

And we could cross busy streets without a Crossing Guard or some electric SIGN that told us it was safe to cross.

And we could Trick-or-Treat AT NIGHT without fear of being killed by weirdos. Or Clowns!

And our Moms and Dads (WE HAD ONE OF EACH!) Grandmas and Grandpas (WE HAD TWO OF EACH!) or any other MOM in the ‘Hood, could beat us senseless and send us to bed without supper if we deserved it. ;)

Doesn't matter to me. I stopped buying General Mills products when they began pushing for "same-sex marriage" a few years ago.

Since then, I treat every General Mills product as if it tastes like dog crap.

People say they want healthy, but flavor is what sells. Pepsi keeps selling what was supposed to be a seasonal sugar based version, but Coke has to keep re-launching their diet versions. They just did a relaunch of sugar free Coke Zero. “Now available with No Sugar”. I guess their customers are stupid enough to fall for that one.

Hey, Coke - try putting sugar in Coke and see your products sell. Better yet, Sugar AND carbonation like it had in the 60s.

The problem isn’t what the cereal is made with, it’s that you’re having cereal.

It’s like “organic” vegetables. The problem isn’t that other vegetables aren’t “organic” it’s that people AREN’T EATING enough vegetables in the first place.

Avoid anything golden brown, except nuts, especially if it is fried!!!

I made the mistake of eating Cheerios in front of my wife and now there are 4 boxes of it in the pantry. I try to get a different cereal every time I go to the store.

A box of Bran Buds will last me 3 years. We don’t need 3 boxes of them. I have to mix them with sweet cereal to eat them. Cinnamon Life cereal and Bran Buds are pretty good.
