I’m so glad that I grew up in a time when we could eat all of the artificially preserved CRAP that we wanted, Trix Cereal, Space Sticks, Wonder Bread and Swanson TV Dinners, included!

And we could ride our bikes without being wrapped in Bubble Wrap.

And we could play outside, unsupervised, for 12 hours a day in the Summertime and after supper, until the street lights came on, when we had school.

And we could cross busy streets without a Crossing Guard or some electric SIGN that told us it was safe to cross.

And we could Trick-or-Treat AT NIGHT without fear of being killed by weirdos. Or Clowns!

And our Moms and Dads (WE HAD ONE OF EACH!) Grandmas and Grandpas (WE HAD TWO OF EACH!) or any other MOM in the ‘Hood, could beat us senseless and send us to bed without supper if we deserved it. ;)

Things were different back then. Our parents could take us in for stitches when we needed them without getting multi-thousand dollar bills to pay.

You said it! And the morning of the Apollo 11 moon landing in 1969, my breakfast was a big glass of Tang, and 2 Space Food Sticks!
