An engineering student who was also an LGBTQ activist was shot and killed by Georgia Tech campus police on Saturday night, officials said Sunday.
The school identified the victim as Scout Schultz, 21, a fourth-year engineering student from Lilburn, Georgia, who police said was armed with a knife. Schultz, president of Georgia Tech's Pride Alliance, identified as non-binary and intersex and preferred to be referred to with they/them gender pronouns, according to the alliance's website.
At a news conference Monday, Schultz"s family's attorney said the student was experiencing a "mental breakdown" on the night on the shooting.
"What was Scout doing that day? Standing there disoriented, having a mental breakdown and was shot from 20 feet away," said the attorney, L. Chris Stewart.

Sorry, but the kid was not really a danger to them. They had other options that would have not put them in excessive danger.
Unaware of current issues? Really? Further depression along with his LGBTWHATEVER and a dozen other things he was likely in therapy for certainly wouldn't give dad a clue. His pictures scream of mental illness. They/them is plural. Perhaps it was Personality 4 that was taunting the cops.
Bet he couldn't handle graduating in a few weeks and having to pretend to be a hireable stable adult.

This community of sexual misfits will never be happy ,, they can’t reckon with who they were when born .
The natural order in “LIFE” ,, for all life forms is to reproduce naturally . All animals , plants etc. do it . If a couple can’t do that then don’t ask for special treatment . If you’re a drag queen forget it .
I know there are many heterosexual couples who can’t reproduce naturally because of reproductive problems ,, I do not mean them .

The knife-waving young man was jogging along at-— a conservative estimate -— 5 MPH. That’s 7 feet per second. He would have been upon the police officer in less than
3 seconds.

Proof once again that this non-binary, non-sexual "revolution" is a serious mental illness. But if what the police say about refusing to obey a direct order can be proven, I'd just chalk it up to "suicide by police" and get back to the day.
He demanded to be shot and it happened. Suicide by cop, nothing new.
Again the general public is under the impression that the police are obligated to use less lethal weapons against lethal threats. This is absolutely untrue.
They are obligated to use the appropriate, reasonable response which when faced with a knife, is a firearm.
