Morning Freepers.
Finished writing and publishing a book for the Kindle in the Fantasy genre.
Pursued: A Modern Christian Fantasy
Its free this weekend. Today (Sept. 15) through Sunday (Sept. 17).
Heres the cover blurb.
It started with dreams. Dreams so real they scared her. Dreams where something dangerous was pursuing her. Dreams that suddenly collide most uncomfortably with reality.
Elise Franklin is a young college student with a seemingly normal life until she meets a most unusual Navajo Indian on the reservation near Shiprock, New Mexico. Now her world is rapidly spinning out of control. She is pushed into more and more dangerous situations, and the body count is rising.
Law enforcement from all over the world want her for questioning, and someone in the United States wants her dead. While she has become reconciled to either a long prison term or dying in a hail of bullets, neither of those bother her nearly as much as the terror of being caught by what is pursuing her.
This is a story of an unplanned adventure, danger, and a spiritual journey from unbelief to belief.
Hope you enjoy it. I certainly had fun writing it. My granddaughter adores it (biased reviewer).
Please, no one star reviews complaining that it has that icky Christian religion involved throughout. You atheist/agnostics have been warned!
A young man who wishes to remain a sound Atheist cannot be too careful of his reading (C. S. Lewis, Surprised by Joy, 182).
One star reviews that this is an unreadable mess will result in my frowny face, but are acceptable.
In anticipation of some questions.
No its not available in other formats. There is, however, no DRM on it so that free programs like (cough ..Calibre.. cough) can convert it for you.
No I cant email you a copy. Contract issues.
Yes, its available for you Kindle Unlimited subscribers.
If you dont like the embedded link above, a search of Amazon Books on my Nom de Plume Paul Cordes will pull up this and some of my other books.
Im the one that writes fiction not the catholic priest that writes theology tomes.
Thank you. I’ll give it a shot.

Is this just Kindle, or an e-book?
CA....
Sorry - just read the rest of the blurb!
Thanks!

Sounds interesting and set in a very familiar landscape. Will check it out.
This is a bit different but of possible interest.
Only one review, so far:

Reality, insight and prophesy swaddled in inspiration leaving you wanting more.
Downloaded.
Thank you! I’ll weigh in once I’ve read it.
I know that you're just joshing me ";^) Nothing depressing about the book, lots of adventure and even a little humor.
Fantasy is just the genre. By definition if it has any component of the supernatural you describe it as Fantasy. Most of the book is in fact fairly down to earth. At least down to earth if you're a Christian and believe in the intervention of God in human events.
Hey, it's free. If you start reading it and don't like it you can always delete it. I've paid for books that I stopped reading after a hundred pages.

Your definition of fantasy appears to be quite different from mine.
It's the way writers and publishers define the genre. It can have fantastic beasts, elves, or fairys, but doesn't have to. Most any supernatural component will throw it into Fantasy. Of course the alternative is Horror if the supernatural component scares.
Mine has angels, demons as well as dreams and prophecy. From a Christian perspective those are reality rather than Fantasy but still.....
The term Modern places the story in at least recent history if not today. Alternative key words are Urban and Contemporary.
Thanks.
Maybe I can get to it next week.
I think you might like the Haiku For The End Times book.

Psalms 91:1 right?
Thanks for your kind reply.
I think you are correct about PS 91’s influence. I haven’t checked with the author about that, though.
IIRC, he’s planning to do a similar treatment springing from THE BEATITUDES as well as THE SERMON ON THE MOUNT in its entirety.
I tend to read such things in small bites, too.
The author’s dry wit comes out in some of them ...
A few of my favorites:
